Boys and girls, collingwood supporters of all ages, the time it has finally arrived.

Tomorrow is the 1st of september, the first day of spring and the it will mark the beginning of a month that we will all remember.

Enjoy this month, it will be a rollercoaster, savour every bloody minute of it. Now is not the time to start tightening up, getting all superstitous and nervous, let the excitement flow and live it.

The players and the coach believe this will be our year, our month, our TIME!! Share the faith, beleive and follow them every step of the way.

Come saturday night I don't want to hear nervous hush over the ground, the MCG is our ground and it must be a cauldron of black and white, from the first bounce to the last kick for goal, the players will be riding our wave of roar emotion.

Go Pies!! This is our time:thumbsu:

I concur..

Great thread, everyone should be excited about this September because it is going to be an absolute belter.

Go Pies. :thumbsu:

GOD I wish I could get as excited as you are.

Ground should be awesome Saturday night if the weather holds up. I'll be a bit disappointed if there's less than 70-75K there.

I'm betting it will be massively lopsided in our favour crowd wise. Which will be cool.

It was the way Malthouse and Shaw spoke yesterday, they were sitting there brimming with confidence.

Join in with it for a month Ed, it will still hurt like hell if we fail but if we win it will make it all the sweeter

We have every right to excited, to be the annoying flogs that Hawk, Cat and Saint fans have been before us. The fact of the matter is whether your quiet, reserved and doubtful or loud and confident it's still going to hurt either way if we fail. As a whole we are going to cop it as fans too. So we may as well have fun with it, give them hell because my god we are going to get it if we aren't succesful.

Thought the same thing...

I actually really liked what he was saying.

I get the distinct impression they treated the Hawthorn game with 'respectful contempt'. Whereas Hawthorn appeared to treat it like a Grand Final lol.

Sounds like he was JUST falling short of allowing the words 'we can win it' to come from his mouth.

But he definitely alluded to the fact that he truly believes they'll win the flag this year.

Good to see.

F**k it. I'll give it a go. I'll try opening my heart one last time. But be warned. If they rip it out again, it remains closed forever...

I do expect the boys to rip the Dogs a new one this week though. I lold at Hawthorn celebrating like they just won the flag after:

- Collingwood shirked contests
- Kicked like garbage
- Were missing Didak, Johnson, PResti and Brown
- Franklin kicked 6 goals
- Hawthorn kicked straight

And we STILL could have won if Dayne just kicked straight.

I must admit, I wouldn't mind playing the Hawks in the finals. Never thought I'd ever say that, but they are a terrible side if you take Franklin out of the equation. They couldn't have played any better, and still barely got over the line with a lot of luck.

Bring on all comers I say.

As the poet said, Too long a sacrifice can make a stone of the heart.:(

Brave sentiments Ed.I trust they'll be rewarded.

Opti - yes, it's time. And time to unfurl the BF Pies Barracking Banner

By the time we face Hawthorn in september they would have had to fly to Perth, beat Freo, fly back, beat either Geelong or St Kilda and then face us with a week rest (assuming we beat the dogs) I'd dare say they would be physically and mentally spent by that stage. If they manage to make it to grand final day I'd be beating my house against them, it is simply to tough a run. Winning on Saturday is a huge advantage because the quality of both of Hawthorn and Freo combined with how hard the Geelong vs St Kilda game is means that whoever we face in a Prelim is going to have had such a tough run that it will be very hard for them to get up for the third week in a row. There is a reason teams don't win flags from outside the top 4 (besides the fact that the best teams finish in the top 4)

I know this is a couple of seasons old but i don't care it fits

Curses on you Opti! I just watched that and now can't settle to do any work. I remember Buckley that night. He was our Achilles. But yes, it's time to forge a new generation of heroes in the fires of finals footy.

Was that a Favourites special? Such inspired editing!

Come on MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!

that would be the ultimate dream draw. My wife said that she would be happy to lose the GF to us if the Swans made it against Collingwood. I told her it was irrelevant what she thought, Sydney are our bitches.

Back in the day I was overly supersticious, but then that got us no where, havn't been at all this year and I couldn't give a ****. We are Collingwood and we deserve to remind everyone why we deserve the respect of the football world. It's september and for the last 5 years we've been here, now we're the bench mark and I want that ultimate success that we have only had once in the last 50 years. I don't need a reminder for why I love the Collingwood Football Club, but perhaps the rest of the competition needs to remember why we have so many people that love our great club.

I can't sit still! I say it every year, but I haven't been this excited about Collingwood's chances for years!

Go Pies!!!

I like this new Shpeshal Ed! Great stuff!:):thumbsu:

I hope no-one here misses the importance of this post.

If Shpeshal Ed is willing to go headfirst into September then we all should be! I have never been so nervous as a supporter as I am now.

It starts this Saturday night. We should not under ANY circumstance underestimate these dogs with their backs against the wall.

I am so excited i thinking of skipping high school tommorow morning just to watch the boys train and i also know on Saturday night regardless of the team the Bulldogs will field against us il be bloody nervious.
