Seriously though, I imagine it's because they have a lot invested in him and are hoping that he'll find his form against a weaker Bangladeshi attack.
His form slump has come at an unfortunate time for both him and CA, as he would have been the most obvious choice as VC for the one day team.

Hold up "nagging back injury"? The bloke played 3 games of cricket in 1 week including 1 Shield match around the time we kicked off our WC campaign. In total he played 6 matches during the WC including 2 finals, wtf are they on about.

They should have taken Hauritz anyway. Doherty is acceptable at State level. They might as well go with O'Keefe if they've burnt Hauritz again.

doherty's the right choice for odis as far as our choices go in the spin department. o'keefe for tests

good to see pattinson in hope they actually play him. this must be do or die for white. obviously they lack faith in him otherwise yeah he was the obvious choice for VC. so they wouldn't gamble on his form for the VC but just didn't have the nads to drop him.

i reckon we've reached the point where players have to go up to the selectors and say "look mate open your eyes i'm playing shit alright. drop me already"

Doherty has been the best one day spinner in Australia for a couple of years and O'Keefe? He wont even get a game for NSW one day side if they have any other spinner available

As for Hauritz, has everyone forgotten he dislocated his shoulder and hasnt played in the last 2 months?

Are the selectors stupid? Surely now is the time for change, especially given we're playing Bangladesh. But nope, they make just two changes to the squad - Pattinson and Doherty for Krejza and D Hussey.

Well its easy to understand the confusion given that Doherty's list A record is easily superior to Hauritzs, only form of the game that someone might rate Hauritz higher is in Tests/First Class
