Not very

Are you suggesting that the Crows fans wish Rendell & co hadn't selected Dangerfield?

If this new kid "does a Dangerfield" the Crows are huge winners

One would think the Crows would have done there home work.
Don't think Doobee would have been pick by any club before pick 30ish.
Should have traded pick 16 out for two later picks. Say pick 16 for pick 29 and 30.
Then they could have drafted Doobee and also picked up one of Bonner or Partington.
I'm sure there supporters would have been happier with that outcome.

But then they would have had to delist one extra player.

They did bid on HH but GWS come over top with an academy pick so Doedee wasn't in the initial want but probably came in as plan B so if they had swapped picks they were no chance at HH.
Yep that as well.

GWS were always going to take HH, they had draft picks coming out of there ears in both 2015 draft and 2016 draft.
Particularly with Macarthy situation, HH is a bit of a Macarthy clone.
Think Harry McKay was the tall you wanted and HH was plan B.
With the player you guys took trading down in the draft just makes sense IMO.
Don't think HH was ever a realist target IMO.

Didn't GWS say they wouldn't go into deficit for Himmelberg? Makes sense considering they have 4 or 5 real good talents in this years draft! Adelaide were just unlucky that we didn't bid on Hopper and that Kennedy didn't get a bit of an earlier bid as well.

Do you think Doedee was actually plan C? When all else fails?

GWS already have 3 first round picks and 2 second round pick for the 2016 draft.
Going into deficit wouldn't really hurt them if they had too.
When Macarthy told GWS he wanted a trade, HH would have become a much bigger priority for them.
May be like plan B if they lose Macarthy, which now looks likely.

Not sure. Was a really strange pick. I really thought Adelaide would take local talent with there two first rounders. Crows are no chumps when it comes to the draft.
Boekhorst was a strange pick for us as well.
At the time was a little disappointed, very happy with the player we have tho.
I do think that crows took Doedee with a view that he will become a midfielder in the future.

You now happy with taking Boekhorst over Laverde, Goddard, Lonie etc? My Carlton mates are less than impressed with Boekhorst.

It's done and Boekhorst has been pretty impressive in my eyes.
Was always going to take him a pre season or two to get his tank up to AFL standard.
Last year would have been very difficult for a any first year player at Carlton.
His been impressive on the track this pre season.

Mainly because you hardly picked anyone that was good.

Well the jury is still out on our 2014 draftees, still early days.
The Pies 2013 draft not so much.

How can you even say that you fool? Scharenberg is injured but he'll get back, Also remember Tom Langdon getting a Rising Star nod against you and Jonathan Marsh is a freak.

Clem Smith=Spud
Vojo-Rainbow= Spud got spanked in the VFL all year
Foster= Will be delisted after 2016

When you blow two top ten picks in a draft that's stacked with talent, thats a bad result.

Sharenberg = will never be the player that he could have been.
Freeman = top 10 pick turned into a second round pick. That's a loss
Langdon = ok average footballer.
Marsh = could be good could be better then average.

Your going way to early on Carlton 2014 draftees. Let us revisit this at the end of this season and see we're things stand.

Turned that into James Aish. Oh what year was he drafted? 2013.. What was he taken? Yeah.
You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know when a Carlton draftee will fail.

Apparently tore him a new one. Carlton don't develop young players, young players there have no help to develop themselves.

DVR was ok against your VFL side.
Kicked a ripper goal.
Ran straight up the middle of the ground took two or three bounces and nailed it from 50.
KID needs to work on his fitness thats clear, but that's no unusually for a second year player.

Clem Smith looks like a new player this year.
Bolton has had big influence on him.

The game we beat you by 68 points?

I'm willing to make you a bet Smith will be gone within 2 years.

Yep it was that game. He wasn't dominate by any means, but he did do a few nice things.
Played well in the Nth Blues Vs AIS. Kicked 2 goals 3b IIRC.
One of the goals he kicked was all class too.
Played HFF and was matched up on Ben Keays most of the day.
He has shown glimpses of the talent his got, fitness is the main thing holding him back.

Clem been one of the standout players of our pre season.
He also has plenty of talent, made U18 AA as bottom age player.
Hopefully for us Bolton can get the best out of him.

Just don't think you can write off draftees after one year in an AFL season.

Turned him into half of Aish. Collingwood gave up the second rounder from the Saints plus their own.
