I think it definitely needs to be around summer.

The issue is that there doesn't seem to be a clear replacement date, seems there are about 10 options.

Try having a referendum on which other possible day would be appropriate without clashing with some other already appropriated day and watch the fireworks go off for real.

I just hope if it gets decided it’s not on what the date is, just around whether we should move it.

The other poster believes that people who want the date changed, will move on to wanting no Australia Day at all, presumably because "Australia" shouldn't exist.

One is easy enough to do, common sense.

The latter won't happen, but last I checked we were supposed to be a free country so people are free to make the case.

People are also free to make the case the date shouldn't change, but here we are. You and others telling them why it should.

So what would you tell someone that wants no date to celebrate Australia?
