Damn! I'm busy going to the Palace that day :p

The last I ever went to that establishment was my bucks night which in turn inspired me to try to climb the Malls Balls in an inebriated state on a cold, wet May evening.

I decided riding the pigs as entertainment to passers by was a much safer bet

OK, so I've been.

Was watching a player, don't know who he is. Bit taller than Tex. Big build. Blondish curlyish mop on top. (not the man bun boy) Looked like he could play...a lot! I hope it was Tommy D but don't think so. Any idea folks?

Jaensch? WTF! Is running about like a man possessed....Knee? What knee?

Jenko, OMG what a monster. I'm calling' it now - this beast will be better again this year.

Knight - zoom zoom.

Menzel - class.

It would have been Harry Dear. He caught and tackled Tex a couple of times during drills. He is a lot quicker than people think.

That's him! I noticed him last year also, doing one on one stuff at training and really looked the goods then as well. Haven't seen him play in the twos...injured last year?
Yup, hurt his shoulder going for a ground ball and had to have surgery. Came back in the game against South from memory and played out the rest of the season (with a break or two in there to ease him in). He has only played about 8 games over 3 years when we drafted him.

At training today he was matched up on Tex a few times and managed to catch Tex easily. He is strong, big and quick.

This is what stood out today.

High risk-reward pick.

Either going to be a gun or perennially injured.

Hopefully the former.

Wonder if he could surprise in 2016 if we decide to play the extra tall at times with tex & jj...

I've said before Dear is a bit like a steam train when I've seen him run. Takes him a couple steps to get up to speed, but once he gets going he's pretty quick for his size.

He's pretty agile too. The other one I noticed at training today with quickness and agility to close down an opponent was Greenwood. The best intercept though was from Menzel. A low ball coming in to be gathered by Cameron and Menzel running with him as the 'defender', sticks his leg out to soccer the ball away. Amazing coordination to do that, as well as the football brains to think to do it in the first place. He got a lot of accolades from his teammates and the coaches for that.
