I thought the cut of this post was refreshing and more about the upside of the "risk" that so many people have been pontificating so knowingly for so long.

Sure he has had his problems but the issue for Cosuins for me at Windy hill is more to do with age and if he still has the game skills to contribute on the field......not the baggage of an asocial past. This will follow Ben for the rest of his life and if he does have football value then let it be part of his and others like him to prove change is not a social impossibility some people on these forums would suggest.

A positive BC story at windy hill is a terrific upside if you really want to evaluate the "risks". Risk assessment is not axiomatically about the negatives.

Everything you've mentioned was basically the upbringing. However, you didn't go into the concenquences which is what I focused on.

Winning a premiership means nothing once you struggle to get yourself back up again later on. How is being known as a "Useless Drug Addict" enticing to you?

And with all due respect, his drugs has had nothing to do with his performance in-game. It's all come from his work ethic and intense training, which he still keeps to this day.

He would set a good example for those who are battling the same problem, and he would most likely put the rest of his footy years left as a veteran to teach our younger boys the ways of success, in football terms, of course.

But hey, I appreciate your opinion, even if I don't quite understand it. Juts putting forward my two cents.
