Open up utilities at startup to find the drive has 19MB of space left and the partition map is such that the drive won't even mount.
Kids, eh? No idea what they downloaded. It was basically used for Minecraft, Terraria and YouTube that I was aware of. It's off to the service peeps for a fix.
