That is a bloody disgrace

They need to get some real soccer people

Apparantly on radio during the week he said that he fell asleep during the France Australia game

What a joke

Apparantly the telecast on Tuesday (dan will love this) was the most watched soccer match ever on TV and if regional areas were taken into account was watched by more people than the AFL grnad final at its PEAK

I know soccer is every four years and the AFL grand final is every year but that is pretty amazing.

Sandy Roberts is the most mind-numbingly stupid commentator ch7 ever shovelled into a commentary box. Did anyone catch the try-hard tie with soccer balls on it? Twat. All I can say is next year will be my most enjoyable year ever to watch an AFL season, Eddie or no Eddie, because the knob Roberts won't be calling an AFL game. F*cken hooraaaaaayyyyyyy!!!!!!

Why does channel 7 persist with turning soccer into footy? They even go to commercial breaks when the ball goes "out of bounds". Its very disruptive to people's viewing!!

They should of got some SBS commentators in.

I might get me Foxtel for the World Cup next year, better then watching it on 7.

In 20 years watching footy on Channel 7, I never saw them go to a commercial break because the ball went out of bounds.

I thought some of the players took in the atmosphere of the MCG on tuesday, and thought they were at the AFL.

The Uraguay goalie went up for a couple of speccies.
A couple of the midfielders tried, and then got soft free kicks :D :D

Why it's not like you are going to miss much, they usually only kick a goal per game. :D

Its a commercial television station. They have adverts and sponsers to live up to. When else are they going to go to an ad break?? They HAVE to go to ad breaks some time.

They could have an ad break everytime a goal is scored like in Aussie Rules. :D

But there have been countless times they've jump the gun, thinking a goal has been scored, when in fact it has been a behind and gone for an ad and missed play while they've been gone. There should be no ad breaks during play or after goals, they have a stack of time at the quarter, half and 3/4 time to put their ads in.

They could have little scrolling messages at the bottom of the screen (like cricket, CH9), they could have those computer generated onfield ads (like the rugby), they could have the ads at half-time and charge a shi_t load for them (like NFL Grand-final).

There's a lot of other options, thats what their marketing people get paid for. Let them come up with other ideas.

They go to commercial breaks after every goal in footy, but as in soccer goals are not scored often enough they go to breaks when the ball goes out for a throw in. Not hard to realise that thats what i was getting at.

So don't be a smart arse and use logic to make the comparisons next time.

I am in total agreeance with you :o

The funniest thing about the soccer commentary on Tuesday night was Hutcho's post game interview with Paul Agostino. Now I think Hutcho's a punce so I'm biased, but he asked Agostino if he was thinking about the Iran loss at the MCG four years ago and how you (Agostino) must have been shattered that time and did he have any feelings that the same thing may happen again as the match drew to a close? Agostino looked him right in the eye and smirking just said, 'well I didn't play in that game, but I'm sure the guys who did felt some anxious moments tonight'.
Hutcho turned to his crew and was fuming.:D :D

'Pure thucking gold!!'

Soccer is Soccer, and Footy is Footy, how can you get them mixed up.
Sandy's not that bad. Ha Ha
