Social Club Membership

In a smart move by the club, all Membership catagories will now receive Social Club Access at Telstra Dome.

You no longer need to purchase the $40 Social Club membership.

This hopefully will encourage a larger number of Members to go back to the Social Club after the macth for a drink or a play on the pokies. Financially, this is to be one of the great benefits of our move to the Dome. I bellieve the Social Club and Gaming Facilities will also be opened for all Telstra Dome matches and for the growing population of the Doclands area. Hopefully this will erase the failure of Broadmeadows and be a boost to our finances.

One thing that has been mentioned by many on this forum, and the old official board forum, is that we should have an opportunity to watch our non-Victorian games on a big screen at the social club via Foxtel.

Surely it couldn't cost too much to set up a commercial account, and the patronage of members and other supporters would bring in plenty of dough through the sale of food, drinks, possibly pokies and merchandise too.

Maybe five bucks for non-members, free for members... judging by the turnout at some pubs during our TV games, I reckon a centrally placed venue & profit staying with the club would be a big selling point for these events.

Access from outside of Colonial would allow these things to go ahead even if there was a match on at the ground during our TV game.

I reckon a few of us could keep the club alive with beer profits alone! Damn it, it's worth trying!
