Maduro was elected and yes he is a turkey. I see the oppo leader wants a military coup. Trump is supporting him. There will be wholesale slaughter after the right wing coup.

I guess Bolsonaro was elected too. He's backed by crazed religioids, some of whom believe climate change will help bring on Armageddon.

Yeah but I'm not talking about Maduro. I'm talking about Chavez. Remember him? He's the bloke all the Aussie left wanted here to tell us all about "Socialism done right." What we are witnessing are the consequences.

No question of feet of clay. Chavez did a lot for poor people - education, health, housing renewal - when Vz was swimming in oil revenue. However he ***ed up by not developing other parts of the economy (where jobs could have been created), meaning Vz was vulnerable when oil prices crashed.

There is no more reason to support international effort at regime change there than in the USA, Saudi Arabia, Russia or Australia. Look at the enduring chaos created when war criminals Bush, Blair and Howard knocked off Iraq or the USA support for regime change in Syria and Libya.

To get that politician that can empathise with the human condition you need voters that can and do value the same human condition . How have we got to that point.. ?
2000 years of Christianity and the basic message from the Gospel?
But then the you have always got “ A current Affair”

No need to take a crack at Grimmers... I should report you to the metoo movement.

Guilty!!! Finally got the f***** scumbag

Don't go too early NC. There's still an appeal in the works....or Pell will suddenly become too sick to serve jail time.
The grub should be strung up and stoned just for all the cover ups he enabled.

The Pellvert declined to take the stand to give evidence during the trial. 'Nuff said.

I go to Ballarat a lot. He is universally despised there. He shared a house with Ridsdale for a while when he was running amok. I have met one of the Ridsdale survivors. He is a quiet bloke who has had a difficult life but apparently is on top of things

For those abused by Pellvert and for those parents of others who were treated like scum when they complained this conviction is a victory.

That he didn't take the stand says it all.

You wonder if Little Johnny Howard would like to retract his character reference and how much support he had throughout the libs for said reference.

Howard, Abbott and co all supported Pell...they should be distancing themselves but they will just double down, like Andrew Bolt.

"Convicted racist rushes to defend convicted rapist"

Pellvert gave a written statement and apparently* they replayed the televised interview he gave in Rome.To the extent he has a sense of humour the Mad Monk credited Pellvert and Bronny Bishop with being his political godparents. I expect he will not make those jokes now both have or are are exiting public life in abject disgrace.

I doubt either the lying little rodent (little Johnny Howard) or the Mad Monk will make public comments about Pellvert, unless his appeal is successful.

In his statement in Rome he said something along the lines of 'it works in my favour that the accusers took so long to come forward'.
Grub.
String him up.
It will send a clear message to all those other pedo-priests.

One of the things that annoys me about this is how Pedo-Pope Francis seems to always escape scrutiny for these things.

"Oh, look he's such an accepting, new chapter of the catholic church"

Me: "he's still the head of the largest organised pedo ring in history".

One Pellvert's big defenders is the Vice Chancellor of the Australian Catholic University. Prof Greg Craven is on the far right of the Church and Liberal Party. He gave a character reference for Pellvert and has been in the media criticizing the guilty verdict. At the same he instructed University employees to not make public comments about Pellvert or the verdict.

To say this is the height of hypocrisy is a gross understatement. The staff at the Uni are in uproar.

Our all-inclusive media, even the ABC under the guidance of HRH Ita, giving zero traction to Cody, Josh and Will’s State of Origin anthem protest.
I’m guessing our fearless leader can’t take a stance if he is unaware of an issue.

Freedom of religion and free speech bubbling away during and post election. Looks like atheists will be allowed to believe whatever they want as long as it doesn't discriminate against people's faith, or something like that. Atheists have freedom of belief but that doesn't mean they should be free of consequences for their views.

Good grief... deists remain a complete pox on the planet. The leaders of their superstitious belief systems have long undermined the rights of others - slavery, women, LGBTI, justifying invasions and mass slaughter.

For too long atheists put up with the arrant nonsense spouted by religious folk. It is high time atheists took a militant position. One example is the happily small number of whackos who are opposed to innoculations and/or blood transfusions for children. This is outright child abuse. Governments should be encouraged to take such children into child protection until such such time as they are dabbed and jabbed or receive life saving transfusions.

drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolaters.... oh yeah.... and GoFundMe too.
Poor Issy 😂

The bloke is a modern day Elmer Gantry. An utter fraud peddling rubbish to the gullible. He is already a multi millionaire. I expect he would have kept the change from the donations.

He will make gazillions from his churches.

Religious zealots are up there with smack dealers, cropping off the desparate and the unhappy
