Interesting little article might explain some injuries taking a little longer to heal.
If a player voluntarily accepts a provisional suspension in writing from the AFL and thereafter refrains from competing, the player shall receive a credit for such period of voluntary provisional suspension against any period of ineligibility which may ultimately be imposed.

Talk about exploiting the rules.

So someone like Max Bailey could have volunteered, sat out the multiple years he did anyway, and just gone apeshit on the juice and probably would have already voluntarily served a longer suspension than he would receive. o_O

Lowden could have been immune to suspensions. Deck Selwood every meeting.

The timing and the explanation of Jobes injury leaves a lot to be desired..just saying.


No way: Jobe got injured when he was opening an envelope from a certain government agency.
