I have been a member of the great club that is called carlton for 27 years yesterday was GUT WRENCHING to see how soft these players are simply i wish i could go in to to the rooms and ask these over paid people one thing do you really run out on to the ground and think to yourselves how lucky you are to pull that iconic jumper on i would have given anything to what you men have been given the chance to do. bob chitty would be rolling in his grave to see how soft our great clubs players are at this space in time .

Don't worry nothing will change, you think the players actually care? Yeah they do care but it's not for the Navy Blue jumper, but hey we are young, nothing wrong with us at all and how dare you call them soft, be prepared for some poster to have a go at you.

you and you a like are the problem WE ARE CARLTON not richmond mate second is and i mean second is not good enough

Not sure if soft is the answer, just not seasoned bodies. With time comes strength and it will improve, but in saying that, Carlton have to go all out this year and get a tough mid that can play. Patrick Dangerfield shold be the top of our shopping list, can play tough in close footy and also go forward and kick goals. I think Bryce Gibbs will be a great player going forward, but not sure if that will be with Carlton, just think it would be a fair trade and a trade that could possibly benefit both sides.

Other trade we need is key position forward, i still think Roughead is our man and a trade for Hampson or Jacobs plus maybe our first round pick would get it over the line.
Roughead would then allow Henderson to go to CHB which i think is where he should be playing (with an added 5-10kg's), Waite to play CHF, Roughead FF and Jamieson FB.
That is a young and exciting spine, add Dangerfields toughness to Murphy and Judd in the middle and Warnock and Kreuzer to do the rucking, all of a sudden i think we'd have a great side.

Chances of all this happening are very slim, but imagine this side:

B: Russell Jamieson White
BH: Bower Henderson Walker
C: Simpson Dangerfield Lucas
HF: Yarran Waite Carrazzo
F: Betts Roughead Kreuzer
R: Warnock Judd Murphy

Would love something like that, anyway, can keep dreaming i guess.

Not sure if soft is the answer, ................

I agree, after watching the first half again it is obvious that at stoppages it was a scramble and half the time it was the 3rd or 4th player to touch the pill that ended up getting it away. With us hard tagging two and them loose tagging one - they had an adv I feel

:thumbsu: Although any thought of trading Gibbs is ludicrous.

We have too many undeveloped/skinny/small players being important to our team. Our CHF is 20. We rely on small forwards to win us games (2 of whom have been in the system for less than 2 years). Kreuzer is our most experienced ruckman (and is injured) and with McLean out, we only have 2 solid bodied midfielders (Judd and Grigg).

This isn't an excuse for a lack of blocking or tackling pressure, but without those big strong bodies, when everything isn't clicking, we get smashed.

Gibbs has been down and playing with an injury, but he's still a better footballer than Dangerfield.

I believe Dangerfield kicked Adelaide out of the game today.

Dangerfield wouldn't improve our disposal which is still one of our biggest weaknesses.

People have such short memories.

He is talking about needs General, we need a dangerfield more than a gibbs he is suggesting.

He is talking about a hard at it with pace that can win clearances and tackle, can also be thrown into the forward line as needed.

We have hadley and the melbourne guy, hard at it yes, no pace tho, struggle to play more than 8 or 9 games a year due to their bodies.

He is not suggesting that danger is better than gibbs, or will be better, merely that he would be off greater benefit to our side given our list.

I'm inclined to agree.

We need Selwood...

It's certainly easier to execute good disposal when the whole team is on top with pressure, support, team work and physical pressure.

Agree Sin. Ratten is going to have make a call on Gibbs now though, cant keep using him in a "man for all seasons" type of role.

Football education is over, and Gibbs has had a beauty, time to play him where he belongs.

You dont use pick 1 on a utility.

If he is injured, he shouldnt be playing btw.

We dont have enough passion. Look at someone like Campbell Brown.

He's not, and never will be the worlds best footballer. And apparently there is a good chance he'll be off to the GC next year anyway.

But each week he goes out and looks like he would kill everyone inside the stadium, including himself for the 4 points. He might have looked like an almighty tool last year against the Bombers, but he was sticking up for his club and his mates.

If there is a bully at school pushing you around, you fight back.

And right now, we're the kid in the playground who refuses to fight back.

Judd fights. Kreuzer fights. Simpson fights. Waite fights.

Struggling to find another name.

Right now, I couldnt give a f*ck if we play well this week. It's way more important that we go out there, and we have a f*ckin crack.

Just put him in the mid-field and let him lose. He is a mid-fielder not a defender. :thumbsu:

Showing hunger at a contest has nothing to do with season bodies, look at Richmond who are probalby younger than us yet they are making us look like netballers.
