Another week, another not-good-enough performance from Solomon. A mere 22 Champion Data ranking points, only better than Cartledge who spent 20 minutes on the ground. Solomon averages 51 points, only Reynolds and Cartledge are worse on average.

Sheedy on Saturday: threatened senior players with immediate axing if they under-perform in the second half of the season. He went on to say the position of out-of-form senior players would be on the line if they didn't deliver in the next nine rounds. "If they don't play anywhere near a really good game, then their position will be at the Bendigo Bombers and I'll just pop the next kid or two in."

Week after week, more and more rhetorical fluff. Lloyd said prior to Round One that in 2005 we had too many passengers, but things would change in 2006. I am yet to be convinced.

All this talk about the efforts of senior players and playing the kids, yet Solomon plays every week.

I thought Solomon played pretty well actually - 13 posessions isn't a heap, but he doesn't play on the ball so he's not going to pick up too many. He also put his body in a few times.

Even when he has played OK, it's his free kicks against and clangers that bring him down. He is 6 for, 17 against this year for frees.

Sheedy had words with JJ and Pev on the weekend, yet I never see Solomon being questioned. These measures on senior players that Sheedy talks about obviously do not apply to Solomon. Drop him just for a week or two and I'll shut up. I suspect there is a reason why he won't be dropped.
