What does this even mean? There are plenty of successful films with an entirely black cast.

This could be the straw that breaks the camels back. If Solo flops, which it has every chance to considering whats happened, Disney could have ****ed Star Wars within 4 movies.

Like seriously, considering the reaction TLJ had, if this is complete dog s**t then a lot of people are going to fall off the Star Wars wagon. How do you * this franchise up this quickly??? It's literally impossible yet they may be about to do it.

I agree Disney have fcked SW. I feel a death inside me when TLJ released. Tho it's still wait and see, because RO was a very Star Warsy film and one of my all-time favorites, and if Solo is decent and Star Warsy, then ok, we can write TLJ off as an outlier.

And further to Disney ruining SW is that the toys are just not selling. It's a pretty big thing that the toy line is dead.

There's a great show on Netflix called The Toys that Made us. It's all about the rise and fall of the really famous lines as told by those who created them.

He-Man's collapse was astounding. At it's height it was bigger than SW in toy sales. Way bigger. A billion dollar franchise, it dropped in one year from $US430m in sales to $7m.

When they die they die dramatically and practically instantly. Disney needs to take note.

Is there any links to material to expand on merch not selling?

What reason do kids have to buy new toys? Only two years since the last movie, less including R1.

Want a Rey? Barely different from TFA.
Kylo? The same.
Poe? The same.
Finn? The imperial uniform could be cool.
Rose? Who would want that? Still, I guess it's possible.
Snoke, Hux, Leia, Holdo? As above.
Luke? Better ask JackieO, after all no kid is interested in a depressed three hundred and twelve year old. Can't carry a story on that guy.

Three prequels worse than anything Disney has produced didn't kill Star Wars.

Three prequels worse than anything Disney has produced didn't kill Star Wars.

Yep. It retreated back into tv shows and video games and waited for a reboot.

Just like Trek did when the movies ean out of steam.

Disney will easily keep SW ticking over in one format or another for decades.

Another matter of opinion.

Fact: Merch sales are grinding to a halt.
Opinion: BUT TEH PREQUELZ

Sent from mTalk
That's not a fact either. Container shipments of Star Wars merchandise are down (thy wouldnt have the sales figures yet), but not grinding to a halt. But the bankruptcy of Toys R Us may have a little something to do with reduced orders. As always, nothing is ever black and white.
