It's truly staggering to sit back and look at the impact that the 2007 Geelong side has had on the competition. From changes to the style of play, to former players becoming coaches, and former players becoming captains...

I have to say, it isn't anything new. Anytime a side has any kind of era and wins flags, their players end up as coaches elsewhere. First it was Richmond in the late '60s / early '70s, then Hawthorn in the 1980s, then Brisbane in the 2000s. Happens a lot.

Happens 'a lot'? Teams don't have runs like the ones you just mentioned all that often...

Point being it's not the first time a successful team has spawned many coaches. The VFL in the 1980s could have been called a Richmond reunion there were that many ex-players as senior coaches running around.

Oh of course, and every instance of it should be applauded - In this case, I'm applauding the good people of the Geelong Football club.
