some players have gone backwards

I wouldn't say so much that players have gone backwards. Rather at the moment they are down on confidence. 1 Good game and we'll get threads saying 'xxxxx' has taken his game to a new level.

Geez, short memories. Lovett has been amongst our best several time since he came back in rd 2. We have 2 wins people, EVERY player has gone backwards. Hille excepted.

Jetta is a certified dud and i have no clue why we resigned him

Because the best way to make a judgement on a player is after 10 games at most.

Who'd heard of Franklin after 10 games?

As I said picking a small crumbing forward at pick 18 in a strong draft was a really silly decsion especially when there were guns that followed.

Jetta was picked up as a midfield prospect and once fully fit and developed will be tried there on a consistent basis. Most midfield prospects start out elsewhere on the ground and develop their game at AFL level before moving into the middle. Exceptions like Rhys Palmer are few and far between.

He was the one that shot out the handball past Judd in traffic for Lovett's goal.

Wasn't that Jobe?

True, it's very hard to be a ready made midfielder in today’s AFL and players take a while to settle down and find their natural position, there was a guy that averaged about 10 touches, 1 tackle and 1 goal a game in his first two years in the AFL back in 95/96 then went onto win two NS - Medals. Just have patience.

I think Andrew welsh, henry slattery, angus monfries and staton have all gone backwards this season. A good player would step up and prove they are a champion but all these guys have done nothing staton has played a couple of good games early against north and calton but Andrew welsh touted as a future leader has no impact on games. Angus monfries has a phobia around goals ever since that snap shot on the full to win the game a few years ago.

what do you think?

I agree, i am worried about those group of players like Monfries, Winderlich, Watson, Stanton Lovett Murray and i am disappointed with Lovett. They have seemed to have gone backwards. Maybe they are all struggling with the new gameplan, and probably the most important factor is confidence. We need those group of players to start leading.

i think you'd be hailing them as AA contenders if they were playing for Hawthorn at the minute.
