Hamling must be a shithouse trainer or something because he hasn't looked like getting a game in Red & White! He actually seems like one of the few defender's on our list that goes for his marks, at least from what I remember of him at Freo and the Bulldogs.

It is the first game. You pile in on guys like you have played at the highest level and know better.
Each to their own.
Hawthorn played well. We will need to get better all across the park.

Stay on. Celebrate the Wicksy redemption arc, Hanily who looked good - another great early call by bedford. Our set up was good. We will get better. But some have to make way - starting with Florent. 169 games, should be better

Come on mate, we all know the first game is exactly how everyone plays for the rest of the year. Nothing ever gets better. You need to drop half the team whenever you lose and replace them with all the AAs you've got running around in reserves.

We bloody lost to Richmond the spooners last year and were a good game away from the premiership and now its season over loosing to a team tipped for top 4 or so

Not true. Wicks, Amartey, and Chad busted a gut. Heeney, Jordon, Rowbottom and Melican tried hard.

We have to remember that these games aren't playing a vacuum. Hawthorn being first to ground balls isn't a suprise, they were the best at it all last year. The bigger issue IMO was our lack of landing tackles, and turning to water in the last. Lots of hack kicks out of defence and general panic in the last 10mins.

Same old story. First game of the season and half the board want to put the cue in the rack.

Boring.

Nice to put the foot down in the third but the rain killed our momentum and we didn't deal with their adjustments, particularly Sicily going forward.

Couple of dumb mistakes and blown chances and they put us away.

Wicks was fantastic at the back. Best game in years.

We were off the pace and chasing our tails. Dumb mistakes from an experienced line up.

The highlight was a back pocket. They don’t win many games of football.

Low tackle, 1 contested possession to half time, a few really poor disposals.

He's a good player and if we had his endeavour a bit more evenly we'd be laughing but that he isn't getting a mention and Sheldrick or Florent are getting the treatment says a bit about how this board picks it's favourites and let's them go.

Not many teams are winning with a supposed prime mover of a midfielder picking up 1 contested possession in the first half, 3 in the second and 16 touches all up.
