Some Questions For Atheists

Wake up to yourselves, your answers are all blinded by ignorance. How can you claim that 70,000 people were blind? How can you claim that if a cripple starts walking again than its normal? How can you say that bodies decaying is common when bodies that have been buried for years are dug out of the ground and found to be intact? You are all so desperate to be selfish about your own beliefs that you forget others. Atheism is inherently selfish, wake up to yourselves!

Please good answers not idiotic atheist insults

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You ask us not to insult, then you spew that diatribe, heh. I could bite and respond with my own comments about religion, but I'm above that, and it seems, above you.

Perhaps one of the dumbest points that Atheists make, why does bad stuff happen? Bad stuff happens because we live on Earth that has its own laws of action. Where would we be if bad stuff didn't happen? Think about it, honestly. How can stupid can someone be to pursue this idiotic line of questioning? LOL at intelligence levels of some people

He's talking about the theodicy or problem of evil, you should really do some research before throwing around insults. Most of the problems of evil are to do with why evil happens to people (Attenbrough uses the example of amazonian children with worms in their eyes) not necessarily why people do evil.

he resorted to that because he didn't expect the answers he got to make him question his beliefs. They did and he got scared.

Thats really nasty mate, I'm trying rediculously hard to find God in the Christian sense coming from such an educated atheist background, it's comments like that that make is very hard cross over.
Heres what i think:

Not all atheists are fools, not all Christians are fools
Thoes atheists who don't believe in god for the wrong reasons and do not understand the theist argument are fools.
Those Christians who believe in god for the wrong reasons and do not understand the atheist argument are fools

Fact is, theres so much evidence supporting both sides, and both parties should understand both arguments fully and not be blind to anything, it depends how you look at the question of "is there a god"

Fact is, there are plausible reasons for EVERYTHING even for how the universe "popped out of nowhere" and for and for the legitamacy of everything in the bible.

I am still in limbo, and people like me don't need comments like that, don't make someone feel stupid for seeing something from a different angle or for having so much more many evidence and theories to juggle from both angles.

PS: Whats more selfish, thinking your the only thing of great importance in a universe larger than cognitively conceivable? Or thinking your nothing but atoms?...hmmm

Why do you need a crutch to get through life?

Why do you need to believe in some higher being/spirit?

Everybody has a crutch, whether it be religion, sex or alcohol. I can't see the problem with believing in God and trying to better your life and be a better person through that belief. I'm a Christian and try to live by the precepts in the Bible, even though I'm not actively involved in a church. If I die and discover that there is no God what harm has it done me in trying to live a life of good morals?

Why do you need to attack people who believe in some higher being/spirit?

But didn't God create this earth? Why couldn't he have created the universe so that no bad things happen? Why would such a loving being 'intelligently design' us so that some babies are stillborn, we are all vulnerable to the many horrific diseases and disorders that cause us so much grief etc etc? Why would he do that?

BTW am I the only one who suspects that KC07 and Linga are one and the same? What are the chances of the two looney tunes on this board both supporting Geelong?

I don't attack people for believing in some higher spirit.
What I do have concerns about is how following religious 'teachings' can lead people to value themselves more highly than others. I mean, people like Linga genuinely believe that I am going to Hell. They genuinely believe that! They believe that their opinions are more reasonable than mine, not because they have any reasons for them, but because they believe they came from a higher being. If certain religious leaders were allowed to rule the world how they liked, imagine the peril we'd be in.

When God gives one amputee their arm back, I'll start to believe. I bet science will beat him to it anyway.

My perspective is that God created nature and science and the laws that are inherent in them and doesn't usually act contrary to them. God does heal people but through advances in scientific research and development.

In that case what is your view on Stem cells? And this does go against Linga's beliefs, who appears to feel that God can intervene and make cripples walk, without scientific explanation at will.

I think it is far more stupid to believe in
Something that doesn't exist.
That rational people know doesn't exist
That is a man made myth
That has never be proved to exist.

LOL at the lack of any intelligence of you.

Oh I see what you did there, you tried to say that by asking questions, it becomes an attack.
Neat :thumbsu:

You started out by asking why someone needed to use religion as a crutch. This implies that you believe there is something wrong with a person who believes in a higher being as a well man does not need a crutch.

Honestly haven't given stem cell research much thought. I don't agree with Linga. I'm not totally opposed to the idea but I've never seen somebody healed outside scientific explanations. If God healed on request he would be like a big gigantic Santa Claus. That's not my concept of God. I think there are explanations other than God for all the things that Linga mentioned in his opening post.

If there was no god (I say there isn't) how would your life change?

Man made God, God didn't make man

Why must you assume we use God as a crutch? Are you asserting your superiority (or lack thereof) because you don't believe? I'm calling for a tall poppy moment.

LOL at the lack of any intelligence of you.

A lot of the greatest thinkers in history have believed in God. You're the one showing your lack of intelligence.

It's an unnecessary hostile arrogance. Almost as bad as extremists.

I'll agree with this... kinda. There's no deity in my life as I've said, but I can't find it within me to scorn others for their beliefs. I have a huge problem with organised religion and its many-tentacled reach into the political world, but individual belief should be something worth respecting.

Religious extremists and their 'my god can beat up your god' attitudes don't help matters, and this I feel gets more moderate folk pissed off. Tempers fray, and no good comes of any of it.

Respect, people. That's the name of the game.

You have a point. I'm a Christian/Messianic I believe Jesus Christ was one of the biggest anti-religious people ever to exist.
