am i the only one with the opinion that we DONT need kerr? id rather try to pick up a CHF or a CHB and possibly a premiership ruckman - and not white, who ratten hs supposedly shown interest in lately. don't think brown would fit in to our team and i don't really want him either.

don't know why we are getting rid of edwards. i thnk he's a good player for his age and has only been given handful of opportunities this year. let him prove himself first as a second option up forward with fev.

Should we read anything into the fact that Murphy and Waite have not yet signed? Would've thought this should have happened soon after Fev, but nothing yet. I really hope this takes place soon and that we also keep Walker and Thornton. We are just getting some games and consistency into this core group.

Depending on who you talk to, Murphy and Waite are already signed. I'd imagine we'll be getting a lot of these announcements throughout the finals series.

Are they under contract right now? Yes.

Are they required players beyond this year? Yes.

Have both shown loyalty to and passion for Carlton? Yes.

Do they seem to get along with the coach and their teammates? Yes.

All it means is they don't have their NEXT contract. They're still signed up under the current one. This whole media-driven frenzy on guys who haven't signed is ridiculous. All that's happened is they haven't signed EARLY.

Two other comments that I just recalled

• Forget talk about Josh Kennedy having the "sh*ts" with us for trading him. He would "come back tomorrow" if a deal could be done
• And the thinking on Walker appears to be that he is more highly rated "out there" than "in here" because he was a #2 pick - i.e. we may be able to do relatively well in a trade scenario

I wonder how likely it would be Josh to find his way back to Visy Park?

Not a chance that these boys will be offered up for trade. Funny that Ratten mentioned some time ago that Murphy and Waite were both all but signed up, yet we haven't heard anything since.

Can't imagine anyone would want to leave Carlton given what is happening, both on and off the field.
