As the noise crowd noise slowly dies after the game of the year for us, there are afew areas of our game I think that the coaching staff need to address.
1. The Forward Set-up - Considered our weakest area. Even now it remains unbalanced and clumsy. Will be greatly improved with the return of Luke Power but tall consistent marking forwards are not having a good time of it this year. The good news is that Jon (Terminator) Brown is learning every week. Certainly Lynch, Bradshaw and Keating when he has been used there have not been consistent enough.
2. Secondly and most importantly, Keating had first use of the ball 31 times on Saturday night, yet it very rarely went to our mid fielders. Surely it will dawn on the rovers to run onto and forward of his taps. Essendon mid fielders and half back flankers benefitted from him too often.
3. Nigel Lappin - is the boy carrying an injury? His straight ahead explosive running and creative disposal have been only spasmodically sighted this year. Hope he returns to his pack splitting best soon.
