Some thoughts about last night

First 1/4 was good, we should have made a better one but for poor finishing (can o'bree kick from inside 50?). Then when Taz went off things started to go wrong.
Umpiring was shocking, they missed blatant free kicks while giving suspect ones (lokan on the wing pushing White?????). The AFL need to do something about these jokers and the goal umpires who should all get seeing eye dogs.
New Kids
The 3 new boys all looked good. Richo is doing a great job in the ruck and is starting to make him self a presence around the ground. He needs to work on his hands but this may be a confidence issue. Looks good.
Swanny did very well last night. He looked far better than many more experienced players and took the chance he was given.
Nixon looks like a kid and still played the way although he did put his head over the ball more than some of the more under pressure pies.
Old pies
Rhyce Shaw did nothing, he wouldn't chace and looked like a man with no confidence at all, add Jason Cloke to this and you have a large hole in your bench. I do feel a bit for Cloke though as he is a man without a position.
Midfield
I'm a lot worried by our midfield at the moment. They seem to be only just ticking over. At the beginning of the game I thought that this wasa going to change but by the 3rd 1/4 they were gone. I have said it before the Didak/ Stevens trade will hurt us big. I like Dids but he has done nothing this year, he made some terrible decisions last night and isn't doing enough. Compare Lokan's game to Didak's we all know who has the ability, but who got the kicks and the goals?
Forwards
God forbid that Tarant and Rocca ever miss games at the same time. We would have no structure at all. How farcical was the kicking the ball backwards from the 50 to the centre to the wing etc last night losing ground with no purpose.
The Backs
Lynch hit Wako which looked just like what Cloke got 2 weeks for, enough said. These poor guys had no help at all. They are too good to have that happen to them again and again so someone up field isn't doing their job. Do we have any young backmen at all? If we don't can I mention that we didn't draft Will Gayfer but instead drafted another few hundred midfielders.
Wakamanis
He kills us ever time. So here is my plan. SOMEONE MARK UP ON HIM. THAT OR BELT HIM IN THE FIRST 5 MINUTES. Honestly we know what he can do and yet we let him run around free. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Finally
Put your money on the lions now. I don't think we were anywhere near as bad as we were against the tigers. However, no one can beat that team when they are on. brisbane are awesome, they have to much power everywhere with no weaknesses. They could win 5 or 6 straight.

Nixons first touch in AFL Footy was a clanger that directly resulted in a goal!!!!!!

Swan was very good
Richards looked good, lacked confidence
Cole was useless
Lokan I thought was one of Collingwoods best along with Burns
Shaw< why play him if hes going to warm the bench along with nixon

Licuria was the most frustrating I think because he once again got lots of the ball and did **** all with it!!! Twice his kicks were smothered once resulting in the momentum swinging goal, the second time in the goal square still resulting in a goal.

Burns was great, by far the best Collingwood player out there.
Johno was good, good drive from CHB, kicking was again bad.
Woey was ok at best
Lonie has had a **** year, did nothing
Didak again tried hard but had no impact
Buckley had a off game for his standars, still was ok
Clement was good I thought, doesn't help us having him injured for next week
Brodie, was ok pooed all over by Acker
O'bree, below par tried hard, had little impact
Wakes. ok early on, knocked out in a very similar way to Tyson Edwards by Cloke, A million bucks says he won't even be going to the tribunal.
Tarrant. If he misses next week then hopefully finally C.Cloke will be in, and were screwed if he doesn not play.
Fraser, not all that good, little impact
Presti, stats suggest he was bad but little could have been done to prevent the type of delivaries to Lynch, maybe Cloke playing loose in the backline.
Cloke, was again bad, no impact, should not have played forward, they have to work out what it is they want him to do., please god, not in the forward line...

There my thoughts on the players last night, as for the game we had no vocal point up forward, Lokan was verygood up forward but you can't rely on him to kick you a wining score. Rocca limping on one bloody leg didn't help. Backline was ok in the first half and then fell apart.

Collingwoods best: Lokan, Buckley, Burns, Johnson, Clement
Worst: Cloke, Cole
No impact even though on the ground: O'bree, Didak, Fraser
No game time and bad, why play them???? Shaw, Nixon

Why? We bring Three Players to The Game who didnt get a go..

Nixon: Give him a Run in the Two's, give him some confidence coz at the moment he has none.

Shaw: Two's all year then released at end of Year.

Cloke: I honestly have no-idea

Shaw was pittiful last night even though he didnt get much of a go, when he did he was ****, This kid last year was goin strong but i've had enough of him.

Swan is my Fav player, i've liked him ever since he arrived at the Club, Last nights Game from Him was Very Good and he was prepared to put the body on the line which i was impressed from. His goal kicking was great, the rest of the Collingwood Team should learn from him, Low and Hard.

Buckley was Below Standards, Burns is always down there getting the ball to our otehr "On-Ballers".


The place where we lost the game was the Mid-field, just like every-other time we play this mob! Two stand up andthe Rest don't have a Clue. Lica, Woey and O'bree, They fryustrate the hell outta me. Lica's Mistake in teh second quarter which resulted in a dubious goal was what got them started. O'bree kicked one out of bounds on the full from fifteen metres out, and woey was his average self.. How the **** did he win a brownlow? Some body tell me PLZ!

Our Backline, well there was nothing tehy could do about the delivery into the forwrad line etc, thats the midfielders fault.
I Feel like Smacking come sense into these players.

Honestly, If brisbane didnt have that extra 600,000$ on teh salary cap most players would have left for more money, if the pies won one or two and tried to keep the list together, it wouldn't work because we wouldn't have as much room to move as brisbane does. That is why i ebelive this is all cheating every otehr team in the afl.

Also the reason tehy got all these great players is because of all teh low draft picks they got when they were ****. Coudl you imagine if Nathan Buckley had stayed up there? Holy ****! Makes u think doesn't it?

We have this problem that we witnessed in the GF of our mid-field not putting any defensive pressure on the lions, West coast or Richmonds mid-field.

Brisbane's mid field are sublime at generating mid field pressure which results in delivery into the forward line being crap.

And yes our defence did its best in miserable circumstances but they need a single general at CHB to keep them as a cohesive and systematic unit.

watch a video of the game and count the number of times our backmen were no where near their opponents because they decidied to take a punt run off them and the ball was turned over and came hurtling back.

Solid systematic defence makes you competitive......

We don't have that at the moment. Our defensive organisation and pressure is pathetic.

Everybody keeps saying 'but our backmen are solid and doing a great job". They fly apart under pressure. they becom disorganised and dysfunctional.

And as long as I can see Johnsons opponent running around with Johnson out of shot , yes I will criticise him.

Attacking defenders .....wonderful....don't stifle that wonderful.....but defenders also have a defensive aspect to their game they need to be almost faultless in.

Too many disorganised runs out of defence will continue to cruel us.

my thoughts in a nutshell

-started off ok misses a few easy goals which could of helped
-tarrant and wakes get injured,lynch gets on top
-no-one mans up akeramanis ,brisbane start flowing
-MM forgets he has a bench
-brisbane cruise off to a easy victory

the loss wasnt as bad as it looks,we had 2 key position players go down early.MM has to start using these kids,they arent going to learn anythong sitting on the bench and then coming out in "garbage time"

need Mcgough or someone who is prepared to go and get a hard ball.
