Some useless trivia

I hope everyone believes this, it will keep them away from my ridiculously sensitive left foot.

Maybe it depends on whether you're left or right handed... or footed for that matter. *shrugs*

I remember reading some article a while ago that suggests that the right hand side of your body is always more sensitive than your left, because the right part of the brain controls these sensations (and reactions, whether it be pleasure or pain).

I'm right handed. But I have a huge scar on my left foot that has made it extra ticklish ever since.

:(

Hmm, did you step on some glass or something? Well, I've heard scar tissue can actually become very sensitive over time... or the skin around it.

Yep. For your useless trivia, let it be known that BG always used to play outside on the farm barefoot, and one day stepped on a giant shard of glass from a shattered god knows what, splitting the foot right open...now that didn't tickle.

Interesting about scar tissue. I have a huge scar across my stomach from an operation as a baby, and it too is ticklish like all hell compared to the rest of the area.

Owww.

Yeah, so I guess scar tissue increases sensitivity. I'm at a loss as to why though. Maybe the body is telling you "hey, be careful next time... I'll make sure you are". ;)

I've got a huge scar on my foot from stepping on glass when I was about five years old.

Let me guess, it's awfully sensitive too? :p

I think I'll make it my "I've got nothing to do" mission to find out why scar tissue can be more sensitive.

Haha go for it... probably be a more interesting read than most threads here. ;)

Some useless trivia...... hmmm....

I can bend my thumb back so my thumb nail (& back of the thumb) touches & sits flat on the back of my arm (the top of my arm). :):thumbsu:
