Remember when they used to play that Jennifer Lopez song before the game and at each break? That song caused me to leave the stadium.

Haha agreed.... BUT on the other hand, I loved the use of Europe's "Final Countdown" before the game! Not sure whether they still use it, I don't get to AAMI Stadium much these days. But whenever I hear that song, I get transported back to 97/98 when I first got sucked in to the footy goodness.

Ditto! Its so SANFL to play that.

When this was discussed on the TPFP website a few weeks ago I made my suggestion. One game I would like to hear the extended version of the Long Way to the Top blaring out with bagpies turned up to 11. I know it's not everybodies cup of tea but it's for one game only.

At another game this year I want us to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our 1977 flag. Maybe the home game after the heritage round which has a 1970's theme. This has to be more than 8 minutes though. Get the players to do a lap of honour. Use the the scoreboards for video's of the 1977 GF. Get the crowd in 1/2 an hour before bounce down. Get Russell Ebert to introduce Randall Gerlach to the players, explain how he played with a kidney condition against medical advice a few minutes before they run out, and get Randall to address them. Broadcast it on the big screen so we the true belivers can watch and listen in. If that doesn't get the crowd pumped up nothing will.

If your going to write songs then one of the best places to learn is from Greg Champion and his dittys. Here at Coodabeens songs
you can have a look at a few of his dittys. The first few are cricket songs then plenty of footy songs. You need to pick songs with a catchy melody and write simple tunes. This is a song I like for its simplicity and 'cause it's easy to sing. If your old enough to know this tune, then you will automatically sing along. Even writing one verse instead of three or four will serve it's purpose.

CRUCIAL STATS
words: Stuart McArthur - Greg Champion
( tune: Kool For Kats - UK Squeeze )

The coach is sendin’ signals
from the box behind the glass
The full back moves in tighter
to prevent a forward pass
The tagging back is sledging
as the go-to forward leads
He doesn’t mind the language
it’s the turn-overs ‘e needs
Today’s key indicator
is reducing needless frees
If they up their tackle tally
and their clanger count is flat
they’ll boost their one-percenters
BE-cause these are crucial stats
they’re crucial….
CRU - CIAL STATS!

Our centre breaks are dreadful
coz we got nowhere to go
They got a gang of midfielders
wot we can’t overfrow
We only kicked one goal
and it was early in the game
Since then we missed eleven
it is SUCH a bleedin shame
It’s funny how our misses always look the bleedin same
but - meanwhile in the rezzies there’s a coupla likely lads
been gettin’ fifty touches
and they’re very crucial stats
they’re crucial...
CRU - CIAL STATS!

To mix it up a little
we rotate the resting ruck
He’s bloody hard to deal with
coz ‘e likes to run amuck
He fancies this ‘e fancies that
he wants to be so flash
He tries to stooge his tagger
into going for the bash
The VFL is calling him - he's heading for a crash
He’s - gotta learn the center square is not a wrestlin’ mat
and work on ‘is effective taps
coz they are crucial stats
they’re crucial….
CRU - CIAL STATS!

That should be mandatory for all new recruits to learn about as well as getting legends like Cahill, Light and Clayton etc to be involved with all new player inductions.

Another thing they should look at doing at half time on the big screens of our home matches is showing a past players highlights package of a different club legend each game as there is plenty of amazing footage to show.

It's the simple ideas that work best - K.I.S.S. - Keep it simple, stupid.

Thankgod we are getting rid of the music inbetween goals!!!!! That stuff killed the atmosphere.

The song I love is U2- A Beautiful Day..... On sunny Sundays in August they used to always play that when showing the highlights and the song always reminds me of Sunday games in August & September, the best time of the year

Let's keep going with the Auskick theme. No idea how the kids are currently selected for it, but how about if you're a kid with a Membership and a Season Ticket your guaranteed at least one run on the ground a year? Think about it from the point of view of the 10 year old, and, what chance would any parent have next year???

If your kid is a planet teal member he has the chance to be in the Power 22, which is the kids that run out on the ground before hand. They will select a new 22 for each home game. My son missed out on the Kangaroos game, so instead will now do it in the showdown :thumbsu:

lol i bet this ''big'' thing is absolute crap.

Ah well anything to get a few more through the gate i guess.

It is not for this weekend. But you will be able to see it during the week leading up to showdown.
For Adults it's probably not that impressive, but its what goes with it, and what you can win that is.

All is being revealed now in the Mall.. Might make the news tonight but will definately be there on Saturday.

So is it a fist then ? ... looks like the cats been out of the bag for a few days over at TPFP. I'm just annoyed my investigative skills didnt take me there earlier - hence my "please tell me" question.

It is indeed a giant animatronic fist. It pumps up! Very phallic.

Plus a new sponsorship with NAB. Offering a range of services aimed at Power supporters. Power NAB Home Loans, here we come!

And a $500 supporter of the week prize.

It'll be on the news tonight, most of the media players were there.

*stares blankly* But why?

Dunno. Maybe someone on the board has kids or grandkids who were impressed with Walking With Dinosaurs.

I would've liked some explosions. Kids love explosions.

Is it holding a lightning bolt?

Yep. It's an animated depiction of our logo. So it's a (pumping) fist holding a lightning bolt bursting out of the Power logo.

So are we talking along the lines of the Fremantle anchor. Will it be visible 'inside' the ground on match day ? Is it inflatable ?

{would look good at night games if it glowed gold after a goal - an a thunderbolt was launched from it at the opposition bench }
