Not totally having a go here Ziad but it is somewhat ironic a West Coast supporter talking about another club's cancerous culture. Not that I disagree with you either, the light at the end of tunnel with tanking might be just that; the end.

Not ironic at all - we paid our price, losing two brownlow medallists and 2 captains. We have also taken steps to remedy it.

Plus the culture was poor with the some of the players, not the wider club.

If Davey leaves, the football club will fall apart (spare me the crap jokes).

I don't even want to consider the fall-out from such a move.
Absolute bullshit,if Aaron Davey left it would'nt be great for sure but players came & go plus i always say if a player does'nt want to be at a club then its best that they move on no matter who they are,the club will continue & the players will work with whoever they have on the list!

The problem that McLean identified was travelling from Maribyrnong to Casey Fields.

Surely they can rustle enough to buy him an E -Tag!!!

Forget about Chris DAWES being traded.
He is a required player at thew pies, with Rocca leaving he will take up his post next year.

More likely scenario is Lovett to melbourne for DAVEY.especially if ALWYN is already at Essendon.

I agree with this. This also applies to any other work place. A disgruntled player will affect the team with negative sentiment and a lessor effort on the field. viz.: "why should I put my neck on the line for this lot?" Not a good thing to have at any club.

It's called KPP depth.

Something the Bulldogs should look into.
You only played Anthony and Cloke for the majority of the year. It's not depth, it's the willingness to only play 2 key forwards. Dawes should have been at FF for most of the year with Anthony in the FP. The Dogs have plenty of young KP forwards on their list, it's just proven quality right now that they lack.

Of course its depth.

In most cases his form perhaps did not warrant selection.

Also, if Cloke or Jack get injured, you need players to be able to cover their absences. This is where you require depth- proven or not.

You need a good balance of depth throught every position on the list.

Our key forwards as they stand are Jack, Cloke, Dawes and Rus.

We need to probably add another player into this department too.

Fair enough and good luck with it. I do believe it wasn't just the players problem though, the club would have been aware of the behaviour and were happy enough to sit on their hands while there was on-field success. If that isn't a problem with the wider club then I don't know what is...

We have a different problem at the Doggies of a "Near enough is good enough" culture, the club is desperately trying to turn that around but gee it's difficult. The Eagle culture would be similarly difficult to turn around being the supreme team in a small town.

Davey ain't goin anywhere. The silly season is here I see and as for a straight swap for Lovett NO WAY. Davey is 10 times better then Lovett. It would have to be Lovett and Essendon's frist round pick. Davey is worth a decent player and first round pick it it ever happened.

Dawes played along side Cloke and Anthony during the year and so did Rocca as soon he could be pushed back into the side - for a final no less. For the whole of 2003 Collingwood played Rocca, Tarrant and Fraser up forward. Rusling has played as 1 of 3 talls when he's been fit and was brought back for the finals in 2007. Reid has been used as 1 of 3 talls as well.

MM has no reluctance to play 3 talls. Fact is, Dawes didn't make much of his chances when he had them and got dropped. Same with Reid who then got sent down back for a year in the VFL.

Anyway, back to Davey, I'd take him for our first pick & Dawes. Dawes could be a good get but there is water to flow yet. On the original topic though, if Davey left after a bloke that stood up to donate at the start of the year you can bet your life there is real trouble at Melbourne.

If Dees could get a top 10 pick and something of moderate value, they should do it.

He was a rookie FFS. Good trading

So if we drafted him with #1 in the national draft yet he turned out to be the same player, we shouldn't trade him?

Melbourne would never seek to trade Davey.

We'll take Davey! Straight swap for Lovett. :)

I agree - it would probably suit both players well also - good move all round. :thumbsu:

Although both players are of similar ability (i would have davey slightly ahead) Davey has his head switched on and is a lot better trainer also. So i would say know to this deal, the fact you to seem to be both jumping at the chance , I couldn't imagine any melbourne fan agreeing to this trade, that alone suggests it favours Essendon.

you have walked away from honesty and the will to compete. You weak greedy management sowed the tanking seed and now you reep what you sowed.

Ah... so your argument is that in a desperate fit of anger about imagined "tanking" claims by trolls like your good self, McLean decided to move to a club who are more closely associated with the phenomenon than any other?

Geez... if you're going to troll us, at least you could do a little better than this! Stupidity = fail. It's that simple.

Nether the less if Davey does want to move on it will take 2 first round draft picks so good luck finding them.
hahaha I do not think so champ:rolleyes:
He is a good player but isn't at that level, and nobody in their right mind would pay that much for him

Hope it doesn't happen for the Dees sake. They have made so much off field progress they don't deserve a kick in the teeth like this.

Good on you for that post mate :thumbsu:

And yeah, I don't think there's any real reason to worry about that rumour, it doesn't seem to have any credibility at all really, given what I've heard about the source, so in lieu of any more concrete information, I'm not particularly perturbed by that bit of scuttlebutt about Davey.

PS- To clear things up, on closer inspection, the source of this "rumour" turned out to be nothing more than a speculative post by a Collingwood fan on BigFooty. So as I said, no reason to take the claim seriously at all.
