5. Galveston*
4. Good Light In Broome
3. The Battle of New Orleans
2. Glasgow Kiss
1. Jerdacuttup Man

BM. Istanbul

*I'd never heard that slower version before and absolutely loved it. Wichita Lineman, another Jimmy Webb penned tune sung by Glen Campbell could have fitted this round too.

Can't believe I gave The Whitlams my 5 votes - I've always hated them - but I dug that song.
Nice melancholy vibe. Beatles-esque (similar chord progression to Sexy Sadie)

3. Ultravox - Vienna
2. Muse - Stockholm Syndrome
1. Blind Willie McTell - Statesboro Blues

Billy: Counting Crows- Raining In Baltimore

OK: Streets Of Philadelphia, The Cult NYC, Istanbul, Good Light in Broome, Malibu, Santa Monica, Santa Fe

May I ask if there is a particular meaning intended for "supergroups"?

I understand the term to refer to various bands from the late 60s, early 70s - is that what's intended?

Or is it meant more generically - like any huge band which can sell out stadiums?

Billy - The Battle of New Orleans

In equal 10th Place is Malibu by Hole with 16 votes and 0 Billies Nommed by Plugger35 ;
The Battle of New Orleans by Johnny Horton with 16 votes and 2 Billies Nommed by little graham ;
Vienna by Ultravox with 16 votes and 4 Billies Nommed by Chappyuk &
Adelaide by Ben Folds with 16 votes and 0 Billies Nommed by CakeEater
Technically me and CakeEater should be placed ahead of the other two as we have less billies, well that's how I order the placings anyway as it helps split up the tied botes.

Up to the host to decide what constitutes a supergroup I s'pose but from my understanding it is a band made up of members who have had previous success in other bands or as solo artists.

I was wondering if AC/DC should count...

Bon Scott (The Valentines, Fraternity)
Malcolm Young (Stevie Wright)
Phil Rudd (Coloured Balls)
I am going very loose interpretation on this one. It is up to you. If you think their previous incarnation was successful enough for the one you are nomming to count as a supergroup go for it.

5 - petrucci - Glasgow kiss.

I was always going to five this when I saw it on the playlist. Whoever nommed this will get a love heart in a pm from me. But then I watched it and MIKE PORTNOY IS THE ******* DRUMMER!!!! Can't move. Cock too hard. The things this man does to a guitar are unspeakable. Just indescribably amazing. Without him dream theater would be shit. He's the only member along with John Myung who's been through the lot. They can replace PORTNOY; they can replace Moore, they can replace Dominici. They cannot replace this Guitar God!!!!

(I bet you don't have a clue what in talking about)

please rig this so it wins.

4 - muse - Stockholm syndrome
My favourite muse song that's been released since origin of symmetry. Nearly nommed this myself but knew it would be taken. ******* awesome riff, awesome solo, awesome drumming. This was muse at their peak. Hope it wins since I know petrucci won't.

It gets hard from here.

3 - LCD Soundsystem - New York I love you but you're bringing me down

I didn't think it was that special at first but something told me to keep listening. The piano was good at the start and I sensed it was going somewhere. Boy am I glad I did. The build up was great and the song just got better and better. When the guitars came in I was like "yes! This is it!"

2 - the butterfly effect - Phoenix.

This song was pretty cool. A bit heavier than I expected it to be and quite enjoyable. A surprise and hence it gets BOTES.

1 - wolf alice - Lisbon.
The first time I have ever listened to the last song in the playlust in full. That's gotta say something.

Billy - gotta be counting crows. I detest that band so much.
