'Sunday Bloody Sunday'. What a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it?
Nothing worse than being hungover on a Sunday after a big night out and knowing you have to go back to work on a Monday.

Bono really nailed that feeling for all of us.

The Stones were treated like criminals on their 73 tour here by the press.

Everyone that saw the Stones on that tour here said they were amazeballs.

The Angels avoided an accusation of plagiarising Status Quo's 1974 song "Lonely Night" for "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again". When producers Vanda & Young first heard the song in the studio, they urged the band to re-record it at a different speed and adding sound effects to avoid a potential lawsuit.[11]

That's fascinating. If nothing else this round has taught us some great things about music. Love it!

Whoever's winning
This was an interesting one. The BBC banned it

Not because it was about a transgendered prostitute but because of 2 words

Cherry Cola
Wasn't it Coca Cola? And they re-recorded the line with Cherry Cola to get around the ban?

Pink Floyd had a similar issue with one of their early singles that mentioned the Evening Standard (newspaper). They had to re-record the line as Daily Standard to get played by the BBC. Though in the words of the band themselves, it didn't really matter because it was such an awful song nobody played it anyway.

Speaking of Pink Floyd, their very first single Arnold Layne got banned by the pirate stations because it was about a transvestite.

Could be right. I think of Cherry Cola as a flavor but as it is still played you must be right

Similar problem to my recently nommed Cover of the Rolling Stone

Do any of you oldies remember the controversy about this Steely Dan song?

Hey 19 was a reference to the drinking age in the Southern states and how it should be reduced to 18.

Massive controversy in Alabama back in 1974.
