I think we should do away with themes for the next 4 or 5 rounds and see how that goes. Just nom anything you want. Imagine a playlist of 20 songs which people actually love, instead of 20 forgettable songs which fit some obscure random criteria.

There are hundreds, maybe thousands of songs I'd love to nom, but I doubt I'll ever get the chance to. Instead I'm scratching around, trying to think of songs by bald-headed singers, or songs with a kitchen appliance in the title, or songs about WW2

I'm losing interest.

Why do we have themes just for the sake of it?

So to whoever wins, that's my suggestion for the next theme: no theme

I don't mind it. I had a similar idea if I won next with a slight difference, I'm not going to win though so I'm out.

There are many possible themes around this very same theme.

all time favourite song
best song from the 50s
best song from the 60s
best song from the 70s
best song from the 80s
best song from the 90s
etc.

one way or the other, you'd get your favourite songs in there

Free for All was a theme I have had in mind for the past. Makes it a lot harder to narrow it down but it should make for a far stronger playlist.

Problem with that is it'd turn into a Mustang Ranch. A Virgins only round 2 would be my suggestion.

That's the idea I had. A Martyr round. All virgins.
I got onto the song contest in round 110 - so missed out on the "Acts not previously nominated" theme in round 109. Be happy with a "no whores" round - only acts that haven't been nommed more than 3 times.

I'm sure there's a thread somewhere already where you can post videos of random songs just because you want to. Having a theme is part of the challenge which makes this a contest. Sometimes the theme leads to good playlists, sometimes it doesn't, que sera sera.

I like the idea of this Shapes theme, but unfortunately it hasn't led to the greatest of playlists. I originally nommed something with BELL in it; quite a few things are described as bell shaped, especially flowers and the end of my John Thomas, but once the arguments over what is and isn't a shape started I thought **** it, this song is too good for someone's Billy just because he thinks there's no such thing as a bell shape.

all time favourite song
best song from the 50s (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s) etc.

I like the variety of old and new we get in most rounds and you'd be alienating some of the Millennial whipper snappers.
But yeah… Next time you win, please do a 60's, 70's, 80's or 90's round

(50's lacks variety, imo)

Doesn't need to be best/favourite song - that limits the selection and lends itself to obvious, overplayed songs

Just go with the theme: Songs from the 80's (for example)

I have thought for a while that the regular themes were running short of options. In a few rounds I had to nominate songs I didn't really care for because there weren't many better options that weren't already used. Plus a lot of the obvious themes have been already used.

This one I thought had some good ones, but not a lot of depth and there's a few whores here.

I know some weren't a fan of reduxes but there's some like Trans-Tasman, Battle of Britain and Colours that have so many options, it wouldn't be the worst idea to have them again, only that you can't nom any song that appeared in the first one.

With a round like Battle of Britain, you can structure a redux round to have one nom per county.
