Imagination - In the Heat of the night (Virus Mix)

Good stuff, except… for the tame piano solo

of Montreal - Heimdalsgate Like A Promethean Curse

Good stuff, except… for Kev's voice and the random synth rumbling just before the bridge

Hockey Dad - I Wanna Be Everybody

Good stuff, except… for the riff similarity to Smells Like Teen Spirit

    Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive

Good stuff, except… their voices get a bit shrieky

    R.E.M. - Leave

Good stuff, except… for the annoying siren-like noise that kicks in after a minute

    MGMT - Kids

Good stuff, except… for the kids screaming just before the last chorus

    John Farnham - Help

Good stuff, except… for the way he says "appreciate"

    That's all 19 nominations I've received.

Could someone please create a playlist on youtube?

John Farnham copping a couple of whacks there, harsh on old Farnesy.

Also harsh picking on the Bee Gees for being a bit shrieky when singing falsetto was their signature sound, that's like picking on James Reyne for mumbling.

Cobain himself was pretty good about admitting he'd (inadvertently) appropiated that same riff from Boston's "More Than A Feeling" and gave them a songwriting credit. [edit: this is bullshit. I was thinking of Radiohead vs Hollies]

And then there's the 'time-travelling' bassline from "Come As You Are" which was remarkably similar to Killing Joke's "Eighties" which itself was a direct lift from The Damned's "Life Goes On"

Nah, they've got a point. At times, Barry Gibb's falsetto on that song was higher and more 'shrieky' than was normal for him and verging on self-parody

That wasn't true about Cobain admitting he accidentally stole the riff and shared the credit with Boston. I was thinking of Thom Yorke with "Creep" and The Hollies' "The Air That I Breathe"

People were on Cobain's back about the similarity, so he did a tongue-in-cheek cover version of "More Than A Feeling" at their famous Reading show.

I don't know how Hunters & Collectors got away with "The Holy Grail"

To be fair I think the Hockey Dad thing is intentional given the lyrical content of the song.

I was thinking of this. Good shit... but I've always wanted the change @ 2:25 to go longer.

It was that long ago since I started hating SOAD and listening to The Fray daily? Time flies.
