OK.
Being the old softie that I am Ive decided to make this an open round- The Jesus gets his covers, Chappyuk gets his shoegaze.

One trifling caveat however... nothing really.

ARTISTS MUST BE FROM A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY.
You know- like El Salvador, Burkina Faso, Geelong etc.
I can nom a song from South Australia again!

I hated the original but I'd still rather listen to that than that shitty cover version, at least Whitney could sing (before snorting drugs wrecked her voice).
It's interesting that you judge the original based on the vocal performance of a cover version.

That's old terminology now. Do you mean more like developing countries?! How are you defining this lol

I thought it was an original Whitney Houston song, I didn't realise Dolly did it before her.

If the Hawks would happily relocate there then it's ok.
Dingley is a third world country?

Lol I looked up the definition and turns out it used to mean countries that didn't follow 'Western' or 'Eastern' bloc type governments (capitalism vs socialism basically). This was pre Cold War. So developed countries like Sweden and Finland were in this category.

Good news for any ABBA fans in the SC.

Have we not met?
Unlike me to pick a vague and ambiguous theme isn't it?
That could lead to all sorts.

Fear not though!

The decision on what constitutes a third world country is something that will be made on a case by case basis.
Rest assured I have an immutable set of criteria which I will be applying stringently
If the Hawks would happily relocate there then it's ok.
And you thought you were going to have a hard time getting a nom accepted before!
Dingley is a third world country?
You can save yourself the trouble of even thinking up a nom
Yeah, I remember in school it was "developing countries", never "third world countries".
Schools are not hosting

It was nice of someone to dust off their parents' vinyl collection to nom this. — roo2macca

Great song, Crowie. It should've won, or at least podiumed. Bloody kiddies don't know a classic when they hear it. — Back One Out

Post-round update! (393) Brought to you by Back One Out. "This contest isn't a lost cause after all!"

  • A 20-minute extravaganza gave Dzhimara his 2nd billy of the contest. Noms at that length will go a long way to getting the billy as people in this contest have no attention span.
  • The people didn't quite love SM again but he will still settle for a moral win after a billy. That was his 14th podium of the contest.
  • Elton Johns Wig continued his good win as he backs up his win with another podium taking his tally to 26.
  • Back One Out won his 13th contest along with his 38th podium.
  • William Wonka's attempt to get creative by nomming a foreign rapper because the bass featured an Australian didn't go to plan as he picked up his maiden pair of donuts.
