roo2macca is the reluctant Song Contest Czar. We elevated him to that position a while back. I thought it was all agreed, but now he is prevaricating and equivocating like one of those flawed kings from a Shakespearean tragedy.Sure you can, the general rules are in the OP.
What was your nic back then?Which is also why I have only ever nommed one Oils song before this round, and that was back when most of the contestants today hadn't even heard of the contest.

I won't be a GG (neither the poster or position) because I'm a republican but I'm happy to add amendments. I say no to band and genre-themed rounds.roo2macca is the reluctant Song Contest Czar. This thread works well as a democracy of sorts, but sometimes we just need a recognised leader to rubber stamp something we can all agree upon. Not as a tyrant or a dictator, but to act as Governor General.
roo2macca is that person. C’mon roo. Canvas a few opinions. Do the numbers. Make an amendment to the constitution. (I don’t agree with all of Wonka’s proposals. I think some rules should be left to the host. But these sorts of themes are clearly very unpopular)

Instrumentals are fine. Technically, that's not really a genre. Concertos, however, would fit under the banned list. You're probably going to have to a be a bit more specific with what is and isn't a genre - eg. the concertos round we've had, instrumentals, etc
Hahaha, no. Whilst I love the Oils, I can see the POV where one artist can annoy people.Oils redux here we come
Great theme.
Vocals ruin most songs IMO.
By total way of a change...but I'd probably sook it up in the thread, lol.
Couldn't agree more TBH.As do instruments. John Cage had the right idea
The Instrumental themes we’ve had were legitimately good rounds because we had instrumentals from a variety of genres: classical symphonies, blues, jazz, funk, rock, prog, metal, electronic, piano solo, chamber music, old 50’s and 60’s guitar instrumentalsYou're probably going to have to a be a bit more specific with what is and isn't a genre - eg. the concertos round we've had, instrumentals, etc
Sounds like bollocks.Instrumentals are fine. Technically, that's not really a genre. Concertos, however, would fit under the banned list.
They only had "the edge" until 83-85.I must admit I found myself wondering where the ''edge'' had gone in MOs music when I listened to the playlist - even my own nom felt flat - now I'm not a massive fan but I have been known to crank up a song when it comes onto Triple M on occassions

After that is was more about the richness and texture of the 2 guitar sound.
I got to the 7th track and realised I was marking them all as 5s and knew this would be impossible.
You're right, it's actually impossible to give an AM song a 5. And they said you weren't a wise man.I got to the 7th track and realised I was marking them all as 5s and knew this would be impossible.
