I'm torn. I have a nom which ticks all the boxes but will get no botes. I know a number of potential noms but the theremin isn't the star of the show.

I went with a theremin track no doubt. Would I say the theremin is the star? Probably not, but the track wouldn't be half as good without it. Theremin can be used in so many different ways.

Finally got a nom in. Spent the better part of 3 hours agonising over what to nom. Do I go all out and potentially put people off entering my future full theremin round? Do I only flirt with theremin to lure those on the outside, in? Do I nom a whore that happened to use theremin or do I stick with a virgin?

None of that matters though. I spent a few hours looking for something new and I came across 11 new albums/artists that really tickled my crevice who I can enjoy exploring further. Could I have discovered them any time I wanted? Sure, but a *good SC theme really lit a fire in my belly to find something new and exciting.

This is why we listen to new music. Not for votes or to show off to our pretentious mates, but for that feeling of discovering something that we haven't heard before. That excitement that you may have found the next album you build your current adventures off.

I'd share my discoveries a) If it didn't bother people pre-release and b) more than 0.37 of you cared they're really good though, trust me.

How good is music. Humanity's one redeeming factor... That and our ability to bond with dogs.

• Chipmunk narrowly avoided his 5th billy, but was saved by a DQ. What a 50th contest that would've been (welcome to the HoF)
• General Soreness was one of the two DQs, which proved costly as it meant that he won his 26th billy.
• MC Bad Genius got DQed for the 3rd time but, at least, this time it didn't cost him a podium (although he was close!)
• Sozabarus is a man in form. That was his 38th podium going B2B in the process. That's now 8 in 18!
• Joining him in 3rd was omgfridge who made it 2 podiums in 3 rounds to take his podium tally to 3.
