As I've gotten older, I've started to enjoy Nick Cave's music more and more (Into My Arms is one of my all time favourite songs), but I feel like his legacy might end up being his Red Hand Files. There is some absolutely beautiful writing in there that's incredibly moving.

I learnt the trumpet at school and played in the school band.

We had the choice of trumpet or classical guitar, guitar probably would have been more useful but all the nerdy kids were doing that and a few of my mates chose to learn trumpet so I chose that too. I was never that good at it mainly because I did very little practice.

I also learnt the piano as a kid through private lessons and didn't practice that much either as it was boring classical music. I ended up quitting the lessons and when I was older I bought my own sheet music books like Elton John and Billy Joel and taught myself to play them, that was more enjoyable than playing classical music,
