Go to an indie bar/club night, and take note of how much stuff from 5-10-15 years ago gets played and enjoyed. In certain circles, the last decade or so has been as good and memorable and enduring as any other musically.

Nothing?

This is just a list of terrible mum-pop. How franchised and beige.

That one at Ding Dong on Friday nights would usually play a lot of that post-punk muck everyone was listening to. The Strokes, Interpol, Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, even stuff like Klaxons got the odd nod.

The reality now is that an appreciation of that stuff has stalled a bit, on a wider scale at least. None of those nights seem to exist anymore, they were all deserted towards the end anyway. I think we'll see it pick back up again, as we all know, y'know, it's all cyclical, but that stuff is really untrendy at the moment.

Thanks for your contribution. Bit off topic though. Does it make you feel good to hang s**t on others' musical tastes? Don't know why you would bother. o_O

Pop music has been pretty boring, mundane, bland, milquetoast, vanilla, even pedestrian over the past few decades.

But still, music has always been a pretty individual thing and I don't think it'll be the pop songs I'll be endearing in any case. 2010 was a great year for music for me, with Deerhunter, Foals, The National, Kanye and a couple of others putting out career defining albums and those will be the ones I'll be reminiscing about.

But for what it's worth

Adele - Rolling In The Deep
U2 - Beautiful Day
The Killers - Mr Brightside
Carly Rae Jepson - Call Me Maybe
Kanye West - Gold Digger
Outkast - Hey Ya!
Outkast - Mrs Jackson
The Hives - Hate To Say I Told You So
The Strokes - Last Night
Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head
Lady GaGa - Poker Face
Rihanna - Umbrella

Sounds like an NME club night night.

There's three that I don't think are s**t lol

Music is subjective though.
Indeed it is. I probably over reacted to Silent Alarms similar observation before, but the main thing for me about music is if it makes the listener happy or whatever that's great, no matter how s**t others may think it is. I wouldn't bother saying what others on here like is s**t, though I'm sure I couldn't stand most of it ........ just don't see why people need to say stuff like that. But thanks for the reply :)

No worries, keep up your internet vendetta. It's about two steps away from 4chan neckbeard-ry.
Vendetta?

Oh are you still upset I laughed at you for deriding stir fry recipes and suggesting the much more sophisticated recipe of chucking Woolies veggie burgers into bread?

Coz other then that I don't recall us interacting?
