Sore noses??

I'm kind of happy that Harvey has realised this early on. Had we been a season or two further on he wouldn't have the luxury of time to make significant list changes - ie, he would be damage control coaching like CC for the last few years.

I've almost convinced myself that the bad start is a good thing:confused:

We actually needed that for Harves to get the support to actually do this from the match commitee IMO.

We saw the same old , same old in Round 1.

A bit of history from 2004

Why has a board member got anything to do with a decision which is basically about football operations? If CC and the team want rid of him (like it seems they've decided with Clive) who is Budgie (or any of us) to argue with them? When it comes to the impact these decisions make on the clubs performance, its the football ops mob staking their jobs on the outcome

MCarr for sure would have his nose out of joint.
Hes not exactly gonna say it in interviews though is he.

If Josh has a problem with matt being dropped thats a big problem.
He needs to be worrying about his performance and the teams only.

Black probably would to he seems like the type who cant handle being dropped.

Great to hear exactly what we have needed.
Lets hope Harvs can put a gameplan in place.
Coz i believe he can definatly get our players performing week in week out.

If J Carr's form doesn't improve then he should play with his Bro at EF, he did come west to play with bro?

if Carrs, macca, blacky etc, etc are whingeing so be it the game is passing them by as they whinge.

Said earlier in this thread the dog now is wagging the tail. and the board needs to back up harvey and shaw to complete the job.

J carr (out of contract) needs the the same type of treatment dished out to Haze at end of 2007- heavily reduced contract - accept or nominate for the PSD. Only a shadow of the feisty in your face tagger of 2004.

FFS some people are quick in getting the knives out.

The guy was injured last week, has had a different role this year and 5 games in his career is all but over.

He single handedly changed the attitude of the side in last years final derby and while you can bleat about history is history how about actually backing some of the senior players in to find their form instead of tearing up their contracts. You seem to forget, like it or not, he is actually our best in and under midfielder at the moment.

Any talk of sending Josh back to the WAFL is both premature and ill informed.

Whoever has their noses out of joint needs to be told get over it now, or never play for Freo again. If they continue, then show 'em the door at the end of the year. End of story.

It depends on what Harvey means by having their noses out of joint IP.

If Matt Carr, Murphy, Black etc went into his office and asked why they weren't in the team because they thought their form was good enough, and Harvey has told them they need to do X, Y and Z to cement their spot in the team and the player(s) have walked away and taken that on board then it is definately a good thing.

But if they are sulking and not putting in on the track because they think they have been hard done by then that sucks and those players need to be dealt with.

I agree 100%. That's pretty much what I meant I just didn't articulate it very well. ;)

he fires up for the odd derby but the return on Josh carr has been questionable. Now that is brother is playing in the right environment - EF
Josh can be returned to his tagging role if fully fit. if he's carrying a leg injury then harvey should be selecting a fully fit and inform player from the WAFL

The problem for Connolly was that Josh carr in 2004 was arguably one of the best taggers in the comp for port. He heads west but hang on his Bro is the tagger for the Dockers. Connolly tried to turn him into an receiver instead of a getter.

Great game in 2007 end of season derby by Josh where was he playing?
Tagger - in your face on DKerr the rest is history

Josh Carr at Port was probably their 4th best midfielder and averaged around 18 possessions a game. At Fremantle we expect him to dominate and be our number one midfielder but the reality is that he doesn't have the tools to be a regular topline midfielder of the competition.

With Hase out and Bell in his last season Josh has gone from being the hunter to the hunted. He doesn't have the pace or clearance ability to shake a tag.

So you agree he has played a different role this year and has been injured.

So why come here and put the knives in?

There are plenty of negatives to our season thus far but J.Carr aint one of em.

That is a remarkable insight into how decisions were made in 2004. My mail in those days suggested the player involved and CC were at loggerheads - interesting considering his eventual redemption.

Dunno how to interpret this decision making process into the 2008 dockers. One thing I do know from my current work is that bureaucracy drags everything into the middle ground.

No I said if he's carrying an injury then he should not play.

J Carr is one of our negatives if not played as atagger because to play as a free wheeling midfielder hea bit too slow too slow.

V Cats I expect Harvey will unleash the "nasty" Carr

This sucks guys. firstly, Josh Carr has been one of our most consistent performers since 04, we gave three draft picks for a premiership player with toughness, an area in which at the time we had really struggled in. he has been fantastic for us, and has been no where near our worst performer this year

Secondly the only reason josh's name came into this thread is because people were speculating on who harv's was talking about in the seniour group has been getting their back up on selections and non selections, we have no idea who these players are, but Josh is our vice captain and i would be very surprised if he has shown any dissent towards harvs. josh isnt stupid he can see his brothers form too like the rest of us, he would know why matt is on the outer.

it staggers me that people want to put the knife in one of our best and most consistent leaders....... i guess now that people are backing off Taz, they need to move on to someone else. its a disgrace.
