Hi Guys,

Saw a post about Hirdy and I said I was trying to come over for his final home game at the G. Well i got tickets and airfares in a group of 8, also catching the Eagles saints game at the dome. Just wanted to know your advice as to where to stay (remembering a 21 year olds budget) and what pubs are going to provide me the most fun.

Hope I'm not trolling to bad, just thought this board would be the place to post it seein as I am going over to see the great man play.​

If your not staying for too long there are plenty of backpackers places either on Wellington pde, which is across the road from the G', or at the end of Sepncer st - outside the CBD, which is about 15mins walk from the dome. I cant suggest any pubs because I'm either always at the game or if we are interstate and on fox I go to the local pool joint. I know there are a few places inside Crown that will be showing it, but they are more upper class than just a local pub.

Try The Royal Hotel on Punt Rd. Very classy establishment with plenty of eye candy.

Seriously go to The Leverson in North Melbourne, good pub. Say g'day to Corey.

Of for a Cheap But ok Motel (not backpackers) in the CBD try the Kingsgate hotel. $60 per night for up to 4ppl

Cheers Guys, it's great to get your feedback. I'm through and through an Eagles supporter but for this game I'll be wearing a number 5 bombers jumper, I've marvelled at Hird for years and love watchin footy at the G, so this should be one to remember.

Try the backpackers - then get to the Beach, The Motel, Boutique, Revolver and you'll see all the players out!!!

Thanks guys. Staying at Kingsgate, i liked the urban one as well, but we have 6 young'ns and then my folks who are almost 50. Kingsgate lets us have double rooms with bathrooms for just over 70 bucks a nite. Pretty good. Again Cheers and I look forward to being a bomber for a day.

Anywhere in richmond, except for the Royal, is good. Try the london Tavern or the Mountain View. Richmond Club Hotel, Corner Hotel and the Swan hotel are good too.
