Not sure if it's been done before, if it has i'm sorry about that too.

I gave Paul Medhurst the biggest sh1t canning in history, when
he was first traded to the Pies.
Turns out, he got better as the year went on, especially finals. :thumbsu:

He's started out on fire this year, so its time to eat humble pie, i was
wrong, and i'm SORRY.

PS is there any room left on the Medder bandwagon ?:D

As the ORIGINAL member of the Medders bandwagon, I hereby grant you permission to jump aboard! :thumbsu:

Maybe I am being a bit harsh but I am not yet convinced on Medhurst.

I thought some of his use of the ball was ordinary on Friday night.....besides the inaccurate kicking for goal, I remember Leon Davis one out in the goal square and on the lead and Medders firing it in quickly only to see it drift defenders side of the contest.

I also thinks he plays for free kicks too often instead of attacking the ball at all contests. I also think he is a poorly skilled handballer (which would maybe explain his reluctance to do it!)

Even in week one when he kicked it over his head in the back pocket/flank instead of escourting it over the line...it found a Collingwood player but purely by chance.

I am reserving judgement.

Valid points, however:

I believe most of us thought he would only get a game when Didak was recovering from his knee, and then make way for him. That he managed to hold his spot (and added a few dimensions to his game he did not previously have) warrants a fair bit of credit in his direction.

He is not a superstar but I think his pluses outweigh his minuses alot more than they used to.

Been a big fan of him since we played Richmond round 2 last year how good was he in that last quarter he has such great awarness of what is around him really good player and will only get better if he can play 22 Full games top chance to go top 10 in the copeland

i think ever since the trade it is a unaminous decision that medders has been better then tarrant, not to mention we got pick 7 as well.

medders fits into our team so well but im not too dissapointed if he puts a few bad weeks together as im aware taht this will happen, doesnt matter because we have eveness across the board

good points but also he has been in our best 5 in the opening 2 rounds of this season, that cant be argued with.
he is only going to get better, sure he still may have the odd brain fade but his 2nd 3rd and 4th efforts more than make up for it! (i.e if he turns the ball he more than makes up with it, with a fantastic chase and tackle or a brilliant centering ball to whoever is in the goal square/floating across HF.) so im more than happy for him to make a few mistakes because what he does in return out weighs it by TTTTTTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS much..... :D

That's harse.

He had 2 kicks on very tight angles. He was also very good in last years finals series.

He did some tremendously dumb things last year, but his effort was there for all to see. This season so far he's been fantastic, and I'm very pleased with his contribution to our side. The guys on SEN are still treating it as though we swapped Tarrant for Meds in a straight exchange, but they're still saying we did the better out of it! :D

He has kicked 2 goals 5 for season 2008.......that is not good kicking in anyones language. Yes, some were tough but when you have a guy who simply refuses to handball (only 33 in total last season and only 2 this year), he better bloody hit the target or convert.

Again, I am not saying the guy is a spud - I am just not over enthusiastic about his performances so far. Good enough to earn another week on the park, but hardly securing his spot for the rest of the month let alone season in my opinon.

The thing i love most about med is that he looks like he loves playing for the pies so much and has so much passion for the club

Exactly.. Last year when he kicked the goal against Sydney and pulled his jumper to show the crowd.. man, i loved that.. I love players who love their club and play for their team.
Medhurst is one of those players who, as Mick said, was given a challenge and he has risen to it. He loves playing for the pies.
We also need to pay credit to the CFC for exploiting the potential of Medders and making him the player he is today.

If he keeps performing like he is his a huge chance for Top 5 brilliant game on the weekend just does so many freakish things its not always goals its passes to
