Number 48, we haven't had a decent player in that jumper since Jordan Doering.
Poor Doering. His career went pear-shaped on the back of one kick against Hawthorn.

Prior to Doering, I thought Geoff Hocking showed some promise in the #48 guernsey. An undersized ruckman, who battled hard.

To be honest, I'm okay with GSOS getting any number, as long as it is between 1 and 15.

I'd like it to be something like this, but not a big issue if it doesn't happen.

#2 - Jacob Weitering
#5 - Jack Silvagni
#10 - Harry McKay
#11 - Charlie Curnow
#13 - David Cuningham
#19 - Liam Sumner
#20 - Nick Holman
#23 - Daniel Gorringe
#28 - Matthew Wright (IF Carlton take him with pick 1 in the PSD)
#30 - Lachie Plowman
#34 - Sam Kerridge
#45 - Jed Lamb
#46 - Andrew Phillips

#48 - Matt Korcheck

If any other rookies are taken. #37, #44, #47 will be available.

So you guys are happy to honour the number made famous by Jordan Doering with an American import but not Serge's grandson...

Based on how I see it after recent years.

- Young prospects, especially high picks and father-sons would most likely choose from the smaller numbers. More stars have worn those.
- Rookies, especially category B's or international recruits would usually don the jumper with the highest number.

This isn't fact. I'm okay if the result ends up being completely different.
I just think somebody like Jack Silvagni would look better in a #2, #5 or #11 jumper rather than a #48.

Back in the early 90's SOS worked for the same company my dad worked for. SOS was in sales; a less salesman-like person I have never met.

It was a cafe, right? I was there one day, he serves me a caramel slice with his fingers - just grabs it out of the display and dumps it on my plate. I couldn't believe it and confronted him about it. What did he say?

"Yes, yes I touched it".

Remember in the olden days where young whipper snappers (sometimes even sons of champions) had to earn their stripes with with a high (numerical) Guernsey number for couple of seasons before upgrading to a lower/low number ?

I miss those days.

Back on SOS III, I would prefer him to spend pretty much all of 2016 in the VFL, let him adjust to bigger body type players in the less advanced league. Patty McCartin (for instance) last year's #1 pick is clearly not ready at AFL level, and Jack probably won't be for 18 months either (that's just a guess admittedly on my part)

Let the boy enjoy his first year on the list without any pressure of being the Son of Serge/Another saviour.

I am a big fan of the 'reserves' apprenticeship model, but sadly, those days appear to have gone the way of The Dodo...

In his defense, Daryl white, Wayne Carey and Gary Ablett came into the Cafe in successive weeks and SOS made sure that between the three of them, only one dish was sent back to the chef.

A major factor in the Cafe winning restaurant of the year award.

To steal a line from Kurt Angle.... With a broken ****ing shoulder (neck).

What a waiter.
