Don't know how post-worthy this is but thought i'd mention i bumped into the one and only SOS today walking around the dome with his family at the game today :thumbsu: Gee i'd love him back at the club in some sort of assistant role!!

Speaking of Carlton premiership players, I had the pleasure of meeting one today (a rare moment for a Perth lad). The Mrs had me take her to Subiaco to watch the Bombers train, while she was getting her stuff signed by the players, I called Scott Camporeale over and had him autograph my Blues guernsey. Bloody good bloke. I don't care how others feel about his move to the Bombers, I have a lot of time for the guy. He was a great player and I hold him in very high esteem. Even more so now.

Well I seen Ang Christou sitting near me. He had a good laugh when Brogan missed the goal whilst running into goal in the 3rd term.

How can anyone bag a premiership player?

I think if Pagan hadn't come to Carlton, Scott would have played out his career with the Blues.

Damn straight... ahhhh Deni$...

SOS is at every Carlton game with the boys I always see them wandering around with the boys in their Carlton jumpers. No matter what was done he's a blue through and through it's so good to see him there just as a spectator

i think its bloody quality that u had ur blues top at the bombers training haha!:thumbsu:

I bet you handed Campo the pen then he threw his head back looking for a free kick,

I used to have Aaron Hamill as a guest on my radio show and he's a good bloke, but I still couldn't forgive him for leaving us. Same goes for Campo.

What was even better was me wearing my Carlton neck tie to the 'Dons Dinner' last night :p

Always flying the flag. :thumbsu:

I was talking to one of the WA Bombers about getting my wife a membership because the club had run out of interstate memberships. We were talking about the WA Blues functions and the supporters breakfast we had. At the end of the conversation he said to me "... and sorry about Carlton, mate", I replied with "Yep, you will be"

i saw hamill out once and to my surprise he talked to me for about 5mins! which gave me a great chance to sledge him massively for doggin' on us. god it was funny though, i remember he was trying to get into this club and with thongs on and the bouncer said no... "do you know who i am?" "yes i do and i dont care" bahaha

Him and Peter Dean in charge of training up our defence would be awesome :)

I dont care what people think... He is and always be a true legend of the club and if he wants to come back and get a job with us, it'd be welcome home son...

And the fact that he is at every game with his boys in their blues jumpers just goes to show his sense of loyalty...

The biggest question is... will there be a SOSOS at the blues in a few years time?

Let's hope Jo hasn't diluted the necessary genes. Pity Geoff Southby didn't have boys instead of champion sports girls. The least he could do would have been to offer up Eloise for a breeding program with one of the Carlton lads ;)

I dont think that the AFL would let us have Southby's grandsons on a father/son rule.

If you're so morally appalled by taking money outside the salary cap, say no and report it to the AFL straight away. Don't take the money then sell out the club, when you get found out.

I'd still like to see him back at the club though. I was a full-back as a junior and the guy was my hero. Got to be a lot of stuff he can pass on to the younger guys (although Crossisca is doing a stellar job with the defence right now.)

i was in the local indian restaurant a few weeks ago & Spiro Kourkamelis walked in for a take away order. I called him over & he was surprised when i said i was a carlton fan who remembered him..

Jimmy Buckley took care of some asbestos too at my mates house a few weeks back too !

the old guys love a chat with fans.

You'll have cred only when we hear your Vinnie story. :)

Champion footballer, shit bloke. Leave him at Shit Kilda thanks.

Are you saying that he is a shit bloke for his part in the salary cap rorting? If so, I think that is a bit harsh. Due to the irresponsibility of the financial control and administration, there was insufficient money under the salary cap to pay him Bradley, Brown and probably others. This was really a result of the 1995 premiership and the willingness of the club to hold onto that list at any cost; and what a cost it ended up being. I really think that SoS leaving Carlton for another club would have been too much for any of us to bear. When Brown got busted they interviewed all of the Carlton players and Sos and Bradley did what that should have done and cooperated with the investigation. I don't see any other option for them - Carlton had been caught and now they had the oportunity to extricate themselves from a situation that must have felt pretty uncomfortable.

Anyone that blames Brown, Bradley or Sos for what happened really is missing the point - the villians here are Elliot, Lofts, Kinnear, Hanly et al. These guys should have known better and should have had enought smarts to manage the finances of a football club that had the support that Carlton had.

Blaming Sos and Bradley is a bit like Elliot blaming Colin Lovitt for not ignoring his duties and responsibilities as a QC.
