Go to Melbourne for one. I live in Canberra and am going to Melbourne purely for a sidewave. Then to Adelaide for the festival.

If I could take a week off work thats exactly what I would do.

Couple of big clashes in the Sydney lineup - Limp Bizkit/Mastodon, Hatebreed/Lamb of God, SOAD/MH/Enter Shikari

It really is the best festival lineup I can remember seeing in Australia. The whole day looks awesome

Sydney has Machine Head up against SOAD, Brisbane has LoG up against SOAD, so whatever Melbourne does out of these two is a big loss to me.

The good is a whole hour of Mastodon into a whole hour of LoG or Machine Head. Unfortunately Hatebreed clash with this.

The metal stage looks good early too.

Really frustrated I didn't get a ticket now after looking at Brisbane timetable. Can't believe I didn't realise Times of Grace were on the lineup!

Could have had an awesome day going:

Turisas, Zebrahead, Times of Grace, Gojira or Unwritten Law, You Me At Six or Alter Bridge, A Day To Remember, Bush, Trivium, Mastodon, Machine Head and/or Hatebreed, Staind, (Very end of) Slipknot, Enter Shikari, (end of) LoG or SOAD

Oh how you live and learn. Still desperately clinging to the hope that someone sells me a ticket on the Facebook Buyers Event :o

Steel Panther/Alter Bridge - Wednesday cant wait to get my ballsout at HoR
BVB -

Mastodan easily for mine, although I would be curious to see Limp. Bummed that SOAD clashes with Angels and Airwaves, but I can't pass up the opportunity to see SOAD.

I can't remember a festival lineup that is close to this one. Perhaps the early BDOs.

With Sydney timetable up thought I would share my day.

Starting with Royal Republic, Cherri Bomb, CKY, Hellyeah, Alter Bridge, A day to remember, In Flames, Trivium, Mastodon, Manson, Slipknot and SOAD.

Only disappointments are BLS, Enter Shikari and Devon Townsend clashes but what can you do?

I thought Maiden was going to be my farewell to these things (I'm 43!) but with such an incredible lineup and increase in fitness over the last year and a bit I might even get in another one or two. Might be getting to old to mosh and circle work but I hope I'm never to old to headbang!

You are never to old mate. A mate of mines brother who is 60 went to Soundwave last year because he loves Rob Zombie, Primus and Gang Of Four I'm not sure if he is going this year after we laughed so hard at him for saying he also liked Birds Of Tokyo....

If you ever need inspiration, check out the guy in the wheelchair who was crowdsurfing at Queens of the Stone Age in Melbourne SW last year. He is awesome.

Come on man.... I'm taking my Dad again this year. He is 57 and will proudly wear his Rob Zombie T Shirt I'm sure. He's hanging to see Black Label Society & Alter Bridge !!

I really needed to go to SW twice this year
Staind or BLS?
And I can't miss SOAD, but don't want to miss A and A!
How early before a set should I get to a stage if I want to get near the stage, for my must-sees?

I got second row and centre from the second song onwards for Nine Inch Nails at Soundwave in Melbourne, even though I was all the way up the back at a food cart for dinner. So if you're keen enough, you don't need any time. :p

May be an issue getting into the D if you are too late for the Slipknot/SOAD end of the day.

Melbourne timetable up tonight (Wed) or tomorrow night. Adelaide and Perth likely to be weekend.

Thanks, my guess is there will be few of the smaller headliners that will be very busy (Bush, AB) but there are a few clashes later on (Slipknot and Staind and Mastodon and Limp) so hopefully that disperses the crowd a bit.

Have to make sure I get to the stage 20-30 mins before my must-sees I think.

Anyone here heading to the Cathedral/Paradise Lost/Turisas show on the Thursday? Stoked with that lineup, and eliminates some major clashes for me.

I got tickets today!

$45 bloody dirt cheap.

I sure hope so. AJ already shafted Melbourne with the Harvest timetable coming out only 2 days before the festival! Now he's doing it again releasing the timetable almost a week after two of the others.

Can not wait for this. Will be in Melbourne for sure. Main bands I want to see are Mastodon and Gojira. Gojira are f*cking amazing. Machine Head & Lamb of God are unreal live, real tight, so keen to see them again as well. So many good bands though. Interested to see Jesse's vox live with Times of Grace. Been a while.

All I have been listening to for the past month or so really is Soundwave bands. I just wish I could go to 2 to make sure I see everyone I want to see

Would it be crazy to only see half an hour of SOAD? I'd have to see Angels and Airwaves by myself, but I'm leaning towards seeing them over the headliner.

Can anyone tell me what both bands are like live?
