Bummed I miss out on BLS and Devin Townsend, but it's better than a thin festival. Never gone to a festival before, but taking it easy early in the day seems wise.

Seeing Cathedral, Paradise Lost and Turisas the night before.

letlive
Staind
Devin Townsend
Machine Head

Anyone here heading to the Cathedral/Paradise Lost/Turisas show on the Thursday? Stoked with that lineup, and eliminates some major clashes for me.

You betcha. Cathedral are the only band I was really interested in seeing so stoked there's a sideshow.

Whoever early (would be Turisas, but not holding my breath on getting there early)
Chimara
Beer
Steel Panther (probably only part)
Gojira
Hellyeah (maybe - mostly just to see Vinnie)
Alter Bridge (most)
Meshuggah
Beer or You Me At Six
In Flames
Trivium (if they disappoint then beer)
Mastodon
Kverlertak
Manson (only a bit just to make sure we can get in the D)
Slipknot
SOAD/Machine Head. That is the one clash that is being a ****

Also seeing the AB/Panther sideshow so may decide to give those bands a miss on the day.

Venue maps are now available on the soundwave website.

Can someone link me to these...apparently I'm a blind dumbass

Edit - I found it...I'm awesome again!

Can anyone confirm that the Metal stage is outdoor. Last went to Showgrounds years ago and think that one on the corner was an outside setting with seats at the back.

Ok just about finalised my day for Brisbane

Turisas
Black Tide
Times of Grace
Lostprophets
You Me At Six
A Day to Remember
Bush
In Flames (1/2) or REST
Trivium
Mastodon
Machine Head (1/2)
Hatebreed
Staind
Slipknot (20 mins)
Enter Shikari
VersaEmerge or LoG

Dissapointed I won't be seeing Alter Bridge and to a lesser extent Coal Chamber & BVB but I really got lucky with clashes, could have been much worse.

11:00- 11:30 - Turisas
12:00- 12:30- The Black Dahlia Murder
1:00- 1:30- Gojira
If Stage 7 is close to Stage 4, may see half of Dredg
Will probably stay at the metal stage until the end of Meshuggah, then go and eat some food.
4:20- 5:00- Paradise Lost
5:10- 6:10- Mastodon
6:20- 7:00- Probably Dillenger Escape Plan, even if I don't like them that much.
Food again.
Then back to the Metal stage for Watain (Miss Devin, sad :( )
Then I'll catch the last hour of system.

I went last year and have to say I liked that line up alot better

Would I need to get a stage early to get into the D for the bands during the day? E.g Would I need to miss Lostprophets to see AB, or A Day to Remember for Bush?

Looking at everyone's plans so far, Stage 4 will be overflowing with people watching Mastodon.

Really should have been on the headlining stage, they are huge nowadays. Even beyond the metal community. Think it might be Slayer 2011 MKII, anyone who was there last year would know the extent of what I mean.

Can anyone confirm that the Metal stage is outdoor. Last went to Showgrounds years ago and think that one on the corner was an outside setting with seats at the back.

Yes, 4a/4b are outdoors. In 2010 it was in the shed thing, but that was reserved for pop punk last year I believe.
