Didn't play CHF this year mate, iv got mates here at Waikerie that play with Westies and they said he plays from a wing because of his great speed and pushes forward very often.
Incorrect. Played CHF for most of the year.

Cheers Weaver, no wonder I hadn't heard of him...Will watch closely for him next year if he doesn't go this year.

Hey you guys you're both wrong !

Its Henry Slattery (the youngest of the 4 brothers) who was in the U/18 side and the SA draft camp - he played the last 6 games for Westies league side whilst many other 'guns' were playing U/19 or reserves for their teams.

Charles was injured late in the season and is aged 20.

Nah I'm not wrong, I meant Charles and not Henry as he was already mentioned. Charles is just as good, 20yo or not would be worth drafting.

What do you South Australians think about Jack Juniper? I have heard GREAT things about his talent and football smarts, and his all round football ability, but have also heard some queries over whether he is committed to football or not!?! I would love to see Hawthorn punt on him late in the draft, maybe with pick 53, or at laest pick him up in the pre-season or rookie drafts, what do you guys think?

Cheers fellas

Juniper prolly has the biggest and most thumping kick out of all the draft prospects this year. Can boot it 60m off a couple of steps, is a solid lad and when on song dominates in a scary way. Killed all opponents playing for Sacred Heart this year.

Problem is as you said, is his desire to continue his footy at the highest level. Big question mark over committment. Imagine how good he could be if he had the utmost desire and hunger to suceed at AFL level?

Cheers mate, I was just wondering because I have heard that he COULD be an absolute star, if his committment was better! I'm wondering if he would be worth the late punt in the draft? He seems a sensational talent!

he will definately picked up...

i spoke to his brother the other day and his attitude has changed dramatically in the last 4 weeks or so since he was invited to state screening, he really wants to play football now. The bloke is a freak, one of the best all round sportsmen ive seen. Plays off 3 in golf, is a frighteningly quick bowler for SHCs 1st 11s, hit 6 6s in a row against St Peters in their grudge match and can throw the ball a mile, won the vortex throwing comp at the school sports day with a throw of 90odd metres... will be good

Charles had Freo sniffing round a couple of years but is probably more of an outside midfielder than Henry and as such has less worth as there are probably more talented players in his position.

That said he'll be vital to Westies in a couple of years.

We can only hope, I think he'd look great in the Brown and Gold, just personally! lol, if anyone has anything else they'd like to add about Jack Juniper, I'm starting a thread to make it easier to do..

Cheers fellas..

if not would be along same lines as a James Mcleay type who can play middle a bit.
James Mcleay is one of the slowest, most imobile football players i have seen. He can not, and most definatley could not in the AFL (SANFL even), play in the middle. Having said that, he is still a KPP of some quality..
