I Hope you are correct FG. You are probably across the following from Matt Duck which makes me think you are not. If the clubs are against this they need to get off their bums and make sure it doesnt happenned. As I said earlier there is one board member ( who has done a lot of good for comp ) that wont let it go.
Whilst the League is similar to many others in terms of adopting a Promotion/Relegation system, it has differed to many other leagues in that currently only one side per division is promoted, and only one side per division is relegated each season.

The League has recently undergone an extensive review of its Promotion/Relegation system, with the Board (and in particular the Football Operations Committee) engaging in robust discussion and research on the merits of our current system as opposed to systems implemented in other competitions across many sports and countries.

On the basis of these extensive discussions, the decision has been made to this year alter the Promotion/Relegation system to a ‘2 up, 2 down’ system.

At the conclusion of the 2012 season, two teams will be promoted from Division 3 to Division 2 and two teams from Division 2 to Division 1, whilst two teams will be relegated from Division 1 to Division 2 and two teams from Division 2 to Division 3.

We reiterate this decision has been made after lengthy consideration on the back of strong evidence and research from other competitions here and abroad that supports the implementation of a similar process.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards

Yes we got this e-mailed sent to us and that is what started it all.
But the great news is, that it is now dead in the water, and the e-mail will be sent to all the clubs in the next week, to say they made a BIG mistake
This is what has come out from Wayne today so make sure your clubs send back there answer as NO
Clearly, given the recent communication we have received from clubs, our level of consultation appears to have not been broad enough. This was clearly an error on our part and we regret not seeking the views of all member clubs prior to making the decision. We apologise.

Accordingly, after considering the submissions made by several member clubs against the decision, the Board has resolved to take a poll of member clubs with respect to the “two up/two down” system.

I would appreciate one member representing your club responding to this email with a simple ‘YES’ you support the “2 up/2 down” change or ‘NO’ you wish to retain the one up and one down system.

The poll results will then be reviewed and taken into account by the Board, who will then make their decision based on the result of the poll.

If you would kindly respond by close of business Friday 4th May 2012 that would be appreciated.

DITTO for me

Cheltenham to beat Chelsea in a repeat od the elimination final last year 5 goals
City to run over a tiring Clayton by 3 goals
EB to smash Mordi to the tune of 15+ goals
St Pauls to do the same to Heatherton
Dingley in a workmanlike performance over Highett 5 goals

East Brighton too good for an improving Cheltenham 24 points
The Heighters too strong for an improved Dingley 20 points

Round 4 tips

Cheltenham vs East Brighton X4G Jack Barker Oval*
St Pauls X2G vs St Kilda City McKinnon Reserve*
Clayton X4G vs Highett Meade Reserve*
Dingley vs Chelsea Heights X5G Souter Oval*

After 3 rounds it is very quite in here, so how do you see the sides so far
This is my view, to see if we can get something going

East Brighton (Winning but not playing as well as they can )
Chelsea Heights ( Looking very good so far )
St Pauls (Looking as they are going to be right in the finish again)
St Kilda City ( Great effort to lose the players they have, and still be right up there. Well done )

Dingley ( Still a few players short of beating the top teams but are going better than last year)
Cheltenham ( Not sure yet, and will be good to see them this week)
Clayton ( I thought they would be better than this ,as they have some top class players on paper )

Heatherton ( Have had a lot of players out and when they get them all back, that will keep them in Div 1)
Highett ( Starting to play some fair football, so will put it on Mordy, to fight out who goes back to D2 )
Mordialloc ( Not going well down at Mordy, they could be heading back to D2)

This is how I see it so far, and football can change very quickly

Best of luck to all teams

Not sure who said that, but Chelt were missing players and one was knocked out in the first 1/4 and took no further part in the game.

I guess we will see this weekend where the Chelt boys are at.
Expect a close contest. The Vampires are winning but not setting the world on fire and Chelts form has been pretty good. They've recruited well and have some quality on their list. EB still have a few big names missing and copped some injuries last week so it should be a ripping game. Credit must go to Chelt after rumour on the street wiped them after Browny's departure

Great round of football coming up:

Mordialloc by 1pt
East Brighton by 5 goals
St. Pauls by 10 pts
Clayton by 5 goals
Chelsea Heights by 15 pts

Looking forward to Saturday night to see how it all unfolds.

Mordialloc vs Heatherton 4pts
Cheltenham vs East Brighton 5 Goals
St Pauls vs St Kilda City 3 Goals
Clayton vs Highett 1 goal
Dingley vs Chelsea Heights 4 Goals
