A small forward who had an outstanding 2008, winning the Sandover Medal for the WAFL’s best and fairest player. Kicked 75 goals to finish second on the league goal-kicking table, won the best and fairest for Peel Thunder and was equal winner of the Western Australian Footballer of the Year award. He is a very damaging and pacy small forward who takes a good mark for his size.

In a bit of a suprise Southern overlooked talls Vickery,Davis and Johnsone. When asked why Ballantnye over them the Coach said they thought he will have more impacted straight away similar to what the Davey brothers did and thats what we need at the moment.

With the 2009 season not going as planned for new coach Elite Pete due mostly to injuries. 2010 cant come quick enough and look for the newly named Richmond Tigers in a massive off season. With pick 3 in the draft they will be hoping for a new crop of youngsters to join the 2009 draftees in setting this club in the right direction.

Elite pete suggested that Tigers will be going after a ruckman due to Lade retiring, and that they are wanting to sign up to 7 of their uncontracted players. Elite pete also said he learnt from some mistakes of his 1st off season in this league.
