Was having a bit of a browse on BigSoccer and there's a fair bit of talk about it on there, but none on here. Essentially the deal results in Spain getting 2018, while Qatar gets 2022.

From what I read there's a not-unreasonable amount of delegates on board - oil money greasing the wheels I imagine.

Should Australia be worried?

Actually ben a fair bit of discussion, if you go down the first page of items and onto the second- a lot of individual threads on Joe Bloggs supporting australia's bid that could easily be combined- but the big news will come Wednesday when FIFA meets and decides what to do about the potential vote selling.

I've said on numerous occassio ns that I wouldn't be counting any chickens just yet- who knows what will happen? We should have a better idea come Thursday morni ng when, presumably, a definitive decision is made.

It has basically no effect on Australia, except 1 vote, meanwhile its totally destroyed the Americans bid. This has seen some major scrambling in the last 5 days, including leaks, certain ExCo being summonsed to Blazer, the bid chief on a huge global tour to try and get back what they had 4 weeks ago.
As I've been saying for a few weeks-the USA at this point, quite surprisingly, will be out in the second round

Qatar have their own problems, including the massive story that came out yesterday, which really should see them get dismissed by EthCo

We'll see in 2 days just who Australia will face in the final two
