Spangher sounds like Everitt
This is getting beyond the joke now (not having a go specifically at you Insight).
Every year we search other teams lists for KPFs that have been overlooked and every year we fail to realise that there is a reason why these players aren't playing for their clubs.
They are not good enough!
Damon White, Tim Boyle, Adam Campbell are all most likely going to be delisted by years end. They were last years crop of no-hoper suggestions. This year its Marcus Drum, Cameron Cloke, etc. We have better young key position players on our list now.
.Can someone please name me one team who has a great key position forward that they didn't draft. It just doesn't happen unless the forward is already a proven commodity. So unless you want to give up Cooney and/or Griffen and Higgins for a Pavlich or a Fevola, we need to have patience with some of the young blokes and hope we can steal one with a midget forward line.

From what I understand, there are couple of Vic clubs very interested in him and are making enquiries, neither of which are the Bulldogs.
I was not suggesting we should be recruit him but surely if it is correct that he wants to come back to Melbourne he is looked at by our recruiters if he ticks the boxes and we and get a deal done fine if he is not considered to be good enough to recruit give him a miss. Nothing lost we must do this all the time with heaps of players.
Our problem is that Scott Clayton was and A grade recruiter of midfielders and a C to D recruiter of talls. There still big question marks on our young tall forwards particularly Grant if I can believe other posters on this board he is miles away and this is his second season. You would expect if he was going to be a topliner he would have a least be playing 5 to 8 games this season
In answer to your question Barry Hall and even Cam Mooney although not great but would be handy they were recruited not drafted.
We are simply not going to trade one of our top line mids for a Pavlich or Fevola
Can't say (I know, sounds like a wank). Won't be hard to join the dots as to which clubs have depth deficiences down back. Coasters are keen to keep him.Out of curiosity, who are these other clubs?
^^^^Double post. Actually if the Bulldogs were looking to snatch one of our players I would think it would be Callum Wilson.....
Hahahahaha it is his first game of AFL so not huge expectations just yetSelected at FF this week. We must have a gander.
hooroo....

.Wilson is good enough. Has shown more at WAFL level than our other forwards. Is still very you and probably has quite a bit more potential as a KP defender than Spangher. Our problem was list space, where we had no room to elevate him and a lot of young KP players coming through (Kennedy, Brown, Mckenzie). Since playing forward this season has been excellent with 5-6 goals in each match but more importantly getting quite a few marks 20 odd possessions and having 10 odd shots on goal. He has just been elevated for Shuey who has been put on the LTI and I am sure most Eagles fans at the moment would be wholeheartedly against trading him. The only reason why I think it would be a good fit for you guys is he is competing against Mitch Brown and Kennedy for a spot and both look very likely types. Add to that our frustrating obsession with Hansen (who knows we may just be giving him a last chance) and it may be difficult for him despite his potential.

Oh craps! Hey you may change your mind after this week. Great in the WAFL may not translate. Now THATS a Freudian. I know you meant to type "still very young", but I'll take the "you" as an omen!...![]()

Stage fright and the increased pace will be big hurdles in his first few matches but he seems to really hungry for a spot so I think he has that in his favour.

Oh dear I live in VictoriaEven better. He can show us all NEXT week what potential he has, when he visits the Dome, and meets Mr. Lake...
hooroo.... btw... appreciate your open mindedness... were you raised in Victoria?...![]()

.The games I have seen Spangher play for the West Coast, he doesn't look like a world beater I have to say.
IMO it is a waste of time going after players that can't get a game with their team that may be a 1 in 10 chance of becoming a better player with us. I would rather put the time and energy into the young KPP's we have at the moment and make sure that we develop them, and they don't stagnate. That should be our primary focus.
Unless the player from another club is a proven player or a huge chance of making an impact, IMO it is self defeating. We give up a third round draft choice for a third stringer, and they are delisted in two years. Where is the benefit in that?
Zac Dawson? or even lesser Farren Ray? what if St Kilda didn't give them ago? where would they be as a side? some players just seem to take that next step at another club, new thoughts new Ideas.
Now im not saying this will happen with Spangher but someone to look at.
