Spangher is a poor mans Bower

And that's saying something given how bad Bower has been going in the last month
this time last year we were saying Bower was the next big thing. Don't give up on the lad yet

We were keen as mustard last year. Interest will probably still be there, but it wouldnt be for anything more than a Steven Browne swap or 4th round pick. He is a good player when he gets continuity in his game.

I watched him in the NAB cup this year and a couple of earlier gmes in the year and he looked reasonably good. He didn't set the world alight but can read the drop of the ball OK and is a good overhead mark. Looked reasonably agile to.

But that was earlier in March/April and I haven't seen him play since.
Definitely worth looking at though if he hails from VIC.

for a 4th round pick (66 approx) yup, go for it.

Remember he is only 23 and is homesick and down on confidence.

The kid has tallent, and 4-5 years in the system. I actually think he would be quite a good addition to our team, especially once he has settled back home.

Anyone wanna offer a reason for 'Spud' or 'God No' or 'If West Coast don't want him he must be crap" calls or are you just sledging for the hell of it?

Like I said, he looked OK in the few games I saw, certainly not 'Spud' worthy but if he deserves the title then at lest give an overview based on form!

of course we and the wc fans MAY have seen more of him

He is not going to demand much he was given a 1 year deal last year he offers as much as any KPB we have at present,23 years old in a compromised draft worth a punt 4th round, hell gave up a first rounder for a player of the same age who managed to string together 2 games.

For those who haven't seen Spangher play, combine David Clarke's disposal with Joe Anderson's decision-making and you're still not quite there...

There is a good reason that he is a massive whipping boy with West Coast fans (probably only behind Bradd Dalziel, and Rowan Jones before him): he is a very limited footballer whose only good attributes are height and athleticism.

Do not want.

Rowan Jones was held in high esteem in fact he was instrumental in there 2006 Flag . If you dont believe me ask Judd he loved him.

Spangher is not a particularly good player, out of curiousity (for Mitch Brown actually) I took a sweep of the WCE boards including the WAFL watch thread. His best feature is his defensive work, which is not of an exceptionally high standard (is average at spoiling, defending leads etc). He has a tendency to completely panic and send the ball careening to an opponent if he gets nervous, but for the most part his kicking/disposal is... well sub-standard actually. I got a look at one of the WAFL WCE highlight packages, the best thing he did was kick long to a pack. Look if he fall to the rookie draft i'd look at him for the third selection. Roughly equated in trade value: pick 135

Only ever seen him once late last year and played a great game off half back. Seemed quite athletic and agile and marked everything, think he ended up with 26 disp and about 13 marks. obviously not enough to judge him on though, ill leave that to the 20+ highly qualified talent scouts we have on this board.

If we are dumb enough to get Mclean for pick 11
who knows what we will do.

We will prob give a second round pick or something stupid for him.

We are a dumb club and Mclean sums us up.

Stupid
