make of this what you will.
A mate of mine who manages a high rise apartment in Broadbeach, told me today that he was sitting next to one Stuart Dew and a few board members from the Gold Coast suns yesterday morning having breakfast in a Broadbeach cafe
Dew's manager came out yesterday arvo to say Stuart won't be applying for the Suns and Dogs job. Maybe we worked him over but he wasnt convinced, or maybe we werent convinced.

That would make sense.

I know you're just relaying information, but I very much doubt that anybody would instantly recognise any board member other than Witheriff. Unless he meant Ashcroft or Blight instead of the actual 'board' of GCFC.

Seems strange that Dew would rule himself out publicly if he were going to fly up to GC to have a relatively public meeting. Unless he's in the seat for a job higher up? Or maybe the position wasn't what he was after, so he publicly denied it.

Intruding again.

Think despite it being a little bit unethical- the Suns had to have some sort of replacement lined up for Bluey, otherwise it was certainly worth giving him another year. He hasn't proved that he can coach on game day without Gazza there- but he has proved he can develop some talented youngsters.

Don't think Bomber would be the right fit tbh.

The reason he was sacked was to do with poor relationships with the youngsters.

Having thought about the whole situation, and I'm sure others will agree, getting rid of Bluey was the right move regardless of whether there was another coach lined up or not. It was bound to happen regardless of Bomber being available, or Sando getting the sack too.

Yes, he developed a young side and helped create a place that made the players feel at home, but he also played favourites. It scares me that if we didn't have such dedicated young players, some could have left after their initial contract, and due to Bluey playing favourites, he'd have gone backwards. Blighty saw this, combined with his numerous other faults, and felt that it was obvious time to move on.

I'm confident of progression under a new coach, both on the ladder, and in terms of development - especially in the guys with little game time in the firsts, as well as the guys who need improvement (e.g. Hall and Day).

I personally can't see that another year for Bluey would have benefited anyone, unfortunately.

Sad but true.

Winderlich to play another season at essendon after being told Bomber Thompson wont be there 2015

http://m.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-p...n-to-the-bombers/story-e6frf3e3-1227091685714
Seems as though that story has been strung together by a lot of hypotheticals.

Yes, Harvey has appointed as assistant coach to Hird, but we all knew that Bomber wasn't going to be an assistant next year anyway. Correlation doesn't equal causation unless you work at the Herald Sun. Bomber could very well be a part of the club in a different role should it be offered - is Winderlich just going to quit then? No. Seems as though Harvey being there made more of an impact than Bomber not being there.

Another bullshit story, imo.

me likey, although I was red hot on Dew and now am leaning towards Bolton because our list is so young

Bombers got the job,,,, deal done some 3 weeks ago. That's why he left the country for a well earned break, getting away from all the Essendon shit, to clear his head and prepare for the Suns Coaching role.

tongue in cheek comment here... just joking.....or is it true?

Firstly I don't mind Bolton at all, but can anyone tell me why he would be a better coach than Leigh Tudor, Luke Beveridge or Scott Burns? There's a lot of hype in here.
I mostly like the fact Bolton is well-spoken and a competitive, energetic personality. I am hoping he rubs off on our players and gets them to be a bit more competitive and energetic, too. It really irked me how often our players seemed to not care playing at the end of this season. It would leave absolutely no room for excuses if the players are unable to put in the hard work under a positive guy like Bolton.

No they can't. It's all just personal opinion and hype, as you said.
Out of that lot I really like Burns. If the way they played the game is anything to go by, he'd be an incredibly smart, all heart, won at all costs coach who reads the play better than anyone I've ever seen.

I agree with everything you've said, but I've only ever seen Bolts as happy, positive, and enthusiastic. I hope he has the ability to give a good spray to someone who isn't listening. Other than that, I don't have any worries.

Tudor, Beveridge, Burns, geez, we should of kept Bluey if we were entertaining one of these guys as a coach. We don't need another beginner, (Blueys already done that for us), We now need a experienced coach ( with finals experience) to take us to the next level with our developing list. One would think that's what the boards plans would be and Bluey did hint to that after his dismissal a few weeks ago.
That leaves Bomber, Worsfold, Eade and Choko. Don't think the latter 3 are interested, thus leaves Bomber.
Dew is out from all accounts as well.
So Bolton maybe, or Bomber. Still got a feeling Bombers already in...... but to cover my arse, I could be completely wrong.

I 100% agree, but by that reasoning, why on earth do you want Bolton?
