Theory - Bomber and the Suns are still in the negotiation process and that is what is dragging the review out. If Bomber commits in the next few days then Bluey gets the sack. If he doesn't commit then they stick with Bluey for another 12 months.

Could be wrong but I think it's plausible at this point.

Probably on the money. Might also throw John Worsfold's name in too.

If Bluey stays beyond this year, we're looking at multiple key players that we've spent a heap of time developing, walking from the club. I'm not talking fringe players, either.

With that in mind, I'm 99% sure that Bluey will be gone and absolutely staggered if he was kept on. It's not a matter of his Coaching abilities unfortunately, or he'd be kept on. As darkwingduck mentioned, he's improved every year. It's just that he has well and truly lost a lot of players, both young and old. That's why he will be moved on. If Bomber isn't available, we'll probably move onto the others available. Bolton, Dew or Bassett.

Interesting. If he really has lost a decent amount of the playing group then he has to be removed. Disharmony in the locker room is definitely something you want to avoid because it can lead to an exodus. The unrest had to do with him ripping into Harbrow after one of their losses, right?

Lots of different things, Matchu. That being one of them, yes.

Malceski is waiting
Ablett is waiting
Bomber is waiting
We are all waiting
HURRY UP !!!
Back Him or Sack Him

Not to mention anyone else who could be potentially want a move to the SUNS if they settled down.

Any player worth a dime would not want to move to a club without a coach. No coach = no direction.

+1.

Dragging it on doesn't sit well with me. I hope they don't screw this up.

What's the shortest turn around for a new Coach to be announced after the old one was sacked in the AFL? Anyone know? As far as I know it normally takes a week at least.
Lyon was announced the very next morning after Harvey's sacking as Fremantle coach. That's as unusual as you get.

Regret to inform everyone here that Mckenna is indeed going to get the sack. I'm not hearing the Mark Thompson rumours as loud as those to do with Mckenna but we can only hope we have him in the bag!

I know it will never ever happen, but I'd love to hear the details...

Harbrow?
Dixon slap from VFL days?

If Bluey wasn't his best mate, Worsfold would want the job now. Knocked back Adelaide and said he'd wait 12 months to coach again which is coincidentally Bluey's remaining contract length!

"I have got a massive interest in coaching ... but in terms of me stepping back into the main job, that is not on the cards, definitely not for the next 12 months," Worsfold told SEN radio.

Don't be surprised if Worsfold ends up with the gig.

Considering what was said last night, I'm seriously thinking Bomber is back as favourite. But I wouldn't put it past them getting Ratten or possibly Sanderson.
