Bolton now looks a better bet? Hocking....?WTF!?

Koshie just stirring shit......I hope.

Our Admin, weve gotta trust them. They have done an extremely good job so far. They coulsnt have known Bluey wasn't a good 'mental' coach. Everthing else they have done has been perfect. Don't let us down with Hocking. we cant believe that....

in GCS we trust...

I have not seen anything in any media whatsoever, (The Age, the local Bully, the Addy, the Herald Sun, the AFL website) that Hocking is a leading candidate.

It strikes me as a bit odd that we would have a 'leading candidate' so soon, given we probably aren't even interviewing anyone for another week or so.

I dont know anything about Hockings coaching creds why would you take him over Bolton or Dew

im sure they aren't sitting on their hands. although Bomber seems to be. theres a good article on him today, all the more reason I doubt very much he will be our next coach. He does and says some weird shit.

There must be an interview at least announced soon. Its not just the paying members, fans that deserve it, but im sure potential and the players need to see some movement. and sponsors...

Hocking lost it at a game. Provedhe hasn't the self control for a big gig.

The Suns lose Hinkley to Port
The Suns get Primus from Port
Then the Suns lose Hart to Port
Now the Suns are after Port's 2's coach

It's very simple
Interview all candidates
Follow up interviews for top candidates
Select Candidate
Get Gazza's approval
Done

Instead of this I know this bloke
who knows this bloke who I use to coach nepotism BS

Agree, but they have to start saying something. The silence over the appointment of the coach, applications, applicants etc is bemusing.

That article is a bit off the mark. Essendon more likely didn't sack Hird for legal / contractual reasons.

1) the payout for ending his contract prematurely is probably a ridiculous amount of money

2) the precursor of threatening to sack a person if they take legal action (i.e. Hird's appeal, something Hird does have a legal right to do) could lead to more legal trouble than it's worth

I wouldn't worry too much, though. I am sure the Suns will pick the best person for the job. They're just keeping their cards close to their chest (as they should).

this is a duplicate post I posted a few minutes ago on the same subject..; also supported by this article. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-10-08/has-bomber-blown-it

Hird is a winner. He knows how to win and when to back off. He hasn't gone to court to lose, he could of backed off. He has taken the challenge because he believes he will win. Obviously those in the know in the EFC know he has more than a good shot, or he wouldn't be there right now.
Bomber has come across with his spat with Ablett and now undermining Hird as an untrustworthy personality. Great coach, no doubt. But as a Suns supporter, I don't want him coaching GAJ again as I don't think it will work. Bomber kicked Hird while he was down at the B&F.

I was mostly referring to this part of the article:

Thompson's actions meant that he relinquished the right to ever work again with Hird. That's what happens when you use a microphone to talk about coveting that person's job. And it also clearly confirmed what had been doing the rounds in the past two months - that Thompson was "off" Hird.

The next day, Thompson headed overseas on holiday and Essendon baulked at sacking Hird.

Maybe if Thompson hadn't spoken the way he did the night before, he would have been installed as Bombers coach.

Hird was likely to remain coach if Bomber had "spoken the way he did" or not. He was always their choice. It wasn't as if Essendon were planning for Bomber to take over and then suddenly back-flipped due to one speech. Journalists were just trying to build this up as a dramatic coup that never eventuated, that's all.

I think this also. Who sticks it up someone and tries to take their job and then goes on holiday? Doesn't make sense. Wouldn't Bomber want to be in the country if he thought he was going to be promoted?

Wouldnt be surprised if the Griffen news prompts the Dogs to start looking for a new coach themselves.
