Just for you jaegerbomb. If you think this isn't going to become an issue down the track, you are dreaming. With Bluey sacked because of 'rumoured' senior player splits, imagine how this may work out?

My feud with Mark 'Bomber' Thompson: Gary Ablett

GARY Ablett has broken his silence on his strained relationship with former Geelong coach Mark Thompson, revealing that the pair had not had a meaningful conversation since April.
In a forthright interview, Ablett said:
THE pair had a heated argument early in the season over whether Ablett would commit to a new contract with the Cats.
THE two men then did not communicate for the rest of the season, meaning Ablett was essentially coached by the Geelong assistants for five months.
THOMPSON was "a very controlling person" who wanted to oversee other parts of the football club, such as contract negotiations and the medical department.
THOMPSON was being "hypocritical" and deflecting attention from his own departure from Geelong by continuing to draw Ablett into media discussions.
Ablett, who joined the Gold Coast Suns in October, said he had hoped to put the strained relationship behind him.
But he felt compelled "to set the record straight" after his former coach took another swipe at him during an Essendon media conference this week.

GEELONG coach Mark Thompson last night claimed Gary Ablett had made the wrong decision to join the Gold Coast but said the Cats would not lose out.
But Thompson created only more intrigue about his own future when he took to the stage in front of 1700 supporters at the Cats' best-and-fairest presentation at Crown Palladium - a count brilliant young midfielder Joel Selwood won narrowly ahead of Ablett.
Speaking for the first time since Ablett confirmed he was heading north next season, Thompson took a veiled swipe at the dual premiership star and said he had erred in accepting the Suns' $9 million deal. ''I'd like to wish Gary all the best, there's been a lot said this year about him and, to be honest, it doesn't really matter, he's gone and it's sad,'' Thompson said. ''We would have loved him to stay, I would have loved him to stay and I think it would have been the best decision for him to stay long term, but that's only my opinion.''

The relationship between Thompson and Ablett had deteriorated through the year, with the coach believing the champion midfielder had put himself ahead of the team by delaying his decision.

''Don't be all doomy and gloomy about this, Gary goes and we get two first-round picks,'' Thompson said.
''The Geelong Football Club has a long history of fighting on and boxing on, taking opportunities and looking forward to challenges and that's what we have to do and just get on with business.''
Outgoing Cats' president Frank Costa had thanked Ablett for his contribution to the club. Ablett only spoke briefly, admitting he had been nervous about attending the count.
''This club has meant a lot to me. I grew up supporting Geelong and obviously played here the last nine years,'' he said. ''I really only wanted to come along tonight to thank everybody, the supporters and the players. I will never forget the success we have had and the friendships I have made along the way.''
Thompson's future remains unclear. He has told club management he is burnt-out after 11 years in charge and has until early next week to decide whether he will return next year.
The tone of Thompson's speech wavered between boosting spirits before emotionally thanking those close to him in an indication he might not be back.
''Tonight seems like a funny sort of night for the club. It started off a bit down,'' Thompson said.
''I think this football club is in an incredible position … very, very optimistic about its future.
''It's not built around individuals. This club has got some unbelievable people that work there and you cannot function the way we function … with just a good senior coach, just a good player or just a good captain - it's not about that. Our club has got quality people everywhere.
''All around if you have great people working at your club - off-field staff and great players getting great help then it doesn't really matter who comes and goes in this world because it's just strong. It's just a strong place.''
Thompson thanked team staff and his partner Jana, whom he said put up with his increasing mood swings.

tigernova the rift between them has been completely blown up and just recently (as of a few hours ago) confirmed to be a nothing issue. May have been in the past, but that was years ago.

Bomber would NOT be appointed Coach if Ablett had a problem with it. You can take that to the bank.

like I said. We just went through a player 'revolt'. 4 years doesn't change personality clashes. It does however change a power structure.

Suns are my team. I want they to keep playing the brand of footy that saw them want everyone watching them. but I also want a happy group. We are putting two bulls in the same paddock. no trouble till there is a cow....

Don't say I didn't say....
